The main feature of the work is the simplicity of the hardware-only a 16 bit fixed point microcontroller with associated external conditioning integrated circuits. This lead to an extremely simple, low-cost and reliable system. A laboratory inverter prototype using a Microchip DSPIC33FJ128MC804 digital signal controller is developed and typical results are presented.

It is provided by a PIC16F877 running a computer program that we have developed on the basis of an algorithm according to the operation that we have set. Index Terms—Solar cell, PWM, PIC16F877,

Based on the diffusion equation, the excess minority carrier's density is expressed and the characteristic current-voltage, series resistance ant shunts resistance are determined. For all these parameters we showed the effect of external temperature.

Based on the excess minority carrier’s density, the photocurrent density and the photovoltage are calculated. The solar cell dynamic impedance defined as the ratio of the photovoltage by the photocurrent, is then determined. The dynamic impedance module and phase are then studied and we exhibited the effects of grain size, grain boundary recombination velocity, junction recombination velocity and illumination wavelength.

Excess minority carrier's diffusion equation in the base of monofaciale silicon solar cell under ... more Excess minority carrier's diffusion equation in the base of monofaciale silicon solar cell under frequency modulation of monochromatic illumination is resolved. Using conditions at the base limits involving recombination velocities Sf and Sb, respectively at the junction (n + /p) and back surface (p + /p), the AC expression of the excess minority carriers' density δ (T, ω) is determined. The AC density of photocurrent J ph (T, ω) is represented versus recombination velocity at the junction for different values of the temperature. The expression of the AC back surface recombination velocity Sb of minority carriers is deduced depending on the frequency of modulation, temperature, the electronic parameters (D (ω)) and the thickness of the base. Bode and Nyquist diagrams are used to analyze it.

The solar cell was already subjected to charged particules irradiation flux (Φp) and intensity (kl,) and remained under both magnetic field (B) and temperature (T). Thus, the graphical representation of the relative value of the short-circuit photocurrent density as a function of the square of the magnetic field (B) yields to determine the slope, which is related to the mobility of minority carriers in the base. It is obtained for a back surface field silicon solar cellunder both temperature and irradiation flux of charged particules.

The system is designed to operate at 12V and accept solar panel up to 100W. The charge/discharge regulator is an analog one with protections respectively against battery deep discharge and overcharge, thermal drift, short circuit and polarity inversion. The proposed regulator has been realized and tested in a solar home system (SHS) composed with AC lamps and DC/AC inverter
