In present article, comparative analysis of Richter Gedeon Plc. and Telekom Plc. is realized. Richter Gedeon Plc. is a large company operating within the pharmaceutical sector and its consolidated annual statement is prepared in accordance with IFRS. Telekom Plc. is a public limited company operating in the telecommunications sector, which also prepares its consolidated annual statement in accordance with IFRS. The reason for selecting the two companies indicated above is that Richter Gedeon Plc. is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in Hungary, while Telekom Plc. as a company operating outside the health care sector is similar to Richter in terms of its size, as their balance sheet totals are almost identical in their consolidated balance sheets. The similarity in terms of the magnitude of thei...

According to estimates, sport accounts for 4% of the EU’s GDP. The actuality of our research is given by the fact that the economic aspect of sports develops continuously which is also due to that more and more amounts already stream into sports in our days. In Hungary, sport is mainly state aided and has mostly financing problems while the sport businesses existing in the more developed Western Europe are principally sponsored by the private sector. The government considers sport as a strategic branch (HERCZEG et al, 2015) and manages as such because they see the international breakthrough potencies in sport as well. Sport companies must also adapt the business-based thinking, which requires the strategic planning and operation (BECSKY, 2011). The research covers the subject of economic approach ...

Approach/Methodology/Design: This study used the casual relationship approach to describe the relationship between the variables of study based on the annual reports of the largest European banks, and the data analyzed by non-parametric statistics according to the result of the normality test. Findings: First, the new amendment related to the impairment of financial instruments under IFRS 9 has no significant impact on the total amount of ECL for the largest banks in Europe. Second, there is no difference among banks in the same country in terms of the calculation of ECL. Third, there is a difference among European countries in the amount of loss allowances for loans. Finally, there is a difference in terms of the total assets and the total amount of loan loss allowances. Practical Implications: The presented study provides significant results about the amount of loss allowances for largest banks in Europe that were less than expectations before the implementation for IFRS 9, which will have a significant impact for banks in particular and the economy as a whole in the case of compliance with real instruction for IFRS 9. Originality/Value: Original study, and our findings have important for bank boards, executive managers in these banks, investors, and accounting standard-setting bodies.

Examples of such specificities include patent rights on the medicines produced, which for a longer period of time prevent the entry of competing players, allowing sunk costs to be offset to some extent by advantages from using higher margins. The primary purpose of this study is to examine whether the bargaining power of R&D-engaged companies significantly affects the financial margin of their operations to a different extent than other pharmaceutical companies. This study examined panel data focused on companies with the highest turnover, while we filtered out differences in the effect due to different macroeconomic and development environments. Our findings are that while the gross profit was significantly influenced by the type of activity within the industry, this statement for the cash cycle is no longer justified. Our conclusion was...

Hungary intended to meet the requirements stated by the European Union by introducing, among others, the EU directives, the FADN (Farm Accountancy Data Network) agricultural data network, and the System of Agricultural Accounts as well. Despite the efforts towards rapprochement between accountancy systems and the harmonization of information systems, a judgement of enterprise performance and the practice of income calculation and profitability analysis show great differences in many aspects between the member countries. Considering that financing and profitability problems of enterprises are very important questions in the economy, I regard a comparison of income calculation methods of agricultural enterprises used in some EU countries essential. Regarding the above mentioned situation, the general aim of ...

A vállalat értékének megállapítása kulcsfontosságú a menedzsment számára a megfelelő döntéshozatalhoz, emellett elengedhetetlen lépés a befektetni kívánt magánszemélyek és befektetők számára. Three major findings are outlined in this study. First, there is a statistically significant relationship between financial engineering and audit efficiency based on the results of the tests of the hypotheses. Second, there is a statistically significant relationship between financial engineering and the quality of financial reports, as the use of financial engineering innovations leads to a decrease in the credibility and relevance of financial reports for users. Finally, there is a statistically significant relationship between financial engineering and the expectations gap in the audit process, due to the increased need for more details about the financial instruments in the auditor's report. The findings of this study are important for auditors, financial engineers, bank executives, and bodies that set standards for accounting and auditing.

The concepts of hy- perinflation and financial results were highlighted in addition to the effects of hyperinflation on the financial results based on secondary sources and the financial results of multinational corporations (MNCs) operating in Venezuela, which is currently the first among the econo- mies affected by hyperinflation; a significant impact of this type of inflation on these affected corporations was observed. The most important result for this paper is that hyperinflation leads to the issuance of financial results in a misleading manner, and thus it causes difficulty in making proper decisions. Therefore, economies affected by hyperinflation should pay at- tention to solving this problem by focusing on how to manage the causes of hyperinflation.

A better understanding of the notion of efficiency is critical to dissolve ambiguity about it. Many confuse efficiency with other supposedly synonymous notions such as profitability, successfulness, competitiveness, liquidity or productivity. This ambiguity originates not only in subjective reasons, but the lack of hierarchical order among certain ideas. The primary driver in our research is, to systematize efficiency in general, and formulate a new categorical approach of the efficiency in corporate level.

Data collected from individual farms are treated confidentially, farmers take part in the sample voluntarily, and are rewarded by detailed reports on their own farm and a comparison with other individual farms. The importance of introduction of this commonly used information system in the European Union is justified by the fact that the role of information became more important due to rapidly changing technical conditions, market and economic regulations in our globalising world. The role of information is also significant in agricultural decision-making. This lecture intends to introduce the profitability data served by a member state’s network, e.g. Hungary and to evaluate the diffe...

Thanks to the global processes occurred over the last few decades, changes took place in the economic processes and the area of accounting was formed much as well. Nowadays, a lot of undertakings perform such activities, which are cross-border and building international connections up. The differing content and rules of the statements applied in different countries make the comparability and the performance measurement more difficult, particularly for the undertakings, their owners, their existing and potential investors, other decision-makers as well as authorities. The above-mentioned differing application of the accountancy enhances the necessity for establishing a uniform harmonized accounting system, which is unanimous worldwide as well. International Financial Reporting Standards (hereinafter: IFRS) are intended to make the financial reports more transparent and unequivocal for its users; it helps to understand the content of reports and makes the decision-making more open and more predictable. However, we need to be attentive not only to the benefits of unification efforts but the economic, cultural, traditional and legislative differences of the single nations and the difficulties of adopting the different and unusual norms The task of accounting is to give a true and fair image about the property, income and financial situation of an undertaking. Information provided by accounting is essential for both the management decision-making and the market operators. In the frame of accounting education, financial accounting has to deal with SAP Financial Accounting. SAP is the most popular enterprise business system used by the biggest organisations in the world to help run their companies. At the university, our teaching task is to give the knowledge and skills to the students they need in the practical, entrepreneurial life with training courses, education programs. At the University of Debrecen, the Institute of Accounting and Finance is faced with these educational challenges, such as introduction of SAP, and IFRS into the BA and MA education, and by using these systems to support managerial decision-making process and the management accounting. The purpose of this research is to examine how can the education reflect to the worldwide changes, and what is the mainstream in the accounting education nowadays. In order that the leaders
