Kebutuhan listrik merupakan kebutuhan utama masyarakat Indonesia dan setiap orang. Pada tahun 202... more Kebutuhan listrik merupakan kebutuhan utama masyarakat Indonesia dan setiap orang. Pada tahun 2020, terdapat 433 desa tanpa listrik di Indonesia. Indonesia memiliki potensi besar sebagai sumber energi terbarukan. Menurut Kementerian ESDM, total potensi energi terbarukan Indonesia adalah 417,8 gigawatt (GW). Potensi terbesar berasal dari energi surya atau matahari sebesar 207,8 GW. Salah satu cara untuk memanfaatkan potensi energi surya yaitu dengan menggunakan Solar Dish Stirling Engine. Kajian ini menggunakan mesin stirling tipe alpha dan udara sebagai fluida kerja. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kecepatan putaran mesin, daya output mesin stirling, dan efisiensi daya output mesin stirling dengan menggunakan empat variasi panjang lengan piston yaitu 5 cm-5 cm (LH-LC), 5 cm-4,3 cm (LH-LC), 4,3 cm-5 cm (LH-LC), dan 4,3 cm-4,3 cm (LH-LC). Pada kajian ini, digunakan lampu halogen 500 Watt sebagai pengganti sumber panas matahri. Dari hasil kajian, diperoleh kecepatan rpm maksimum pada 852 rpm dengan panjang lengan di 5 cm-5 cm (LH-LC). Hasil kajian juga diperoleh bahwa kecepatan putaran mesin optimum terdapat pada panjang lengan 5 cm-5 cm (LH-LC) dengan nilai 0,39 W pada 839 rpm. Kinerja atau efisiensi mesin stirling ini terbesar yaitu 6,5% pada panjang lengan 5 cm-5 cm (LH-LC). Kata kunci: mesin stirling, parabolic dish concentrator, energi matahari, mesin pembakaran luar.

Seiring dengan pertumbuhan jumlah penduduk Indonesia, kebutuhan akan transportasi semakin meningk... more Seiring dengan pertumbuhan jumlah penduduk Indonesia, kebutuhan akan transportasi semakin meningkat, jumlah kepemilikan sepeda motor dari tahun ke tahun terus mengalami kenaikan. Sepeda motor, khususnya jenis matik merupakan moda transportasi yang sangat vital dalam perannya di hampir seluruh kota di Indonesia. Dari beberapa media cetak ditemukan beberapa keluhan pengguna sepeda motor skutik bahwa performanya kurang baik. Banyak hal yang menyebabkan kurangnya performa ini, salah satunya adalah kondisi udara yang masuk ke ruang bakar. Pada penelitian ini, dirancang alat pendingin udara berbasis termoelektrik dengan tujuan agar udara yang masuk ke ruang bakar mengalami penurunan temperatur. Dengan demikian maka kerapatan partikel udara akan semakin meningkat. Melalui penelitian ini juga diharapkan bahwa campuran udara dan bahan bakar semakin baik sehingga akan terjadi peningkatan performa kendaraan. Pendingin udara berbasis termoelektrik digunakan karena tidak membutuhkan fluida pendingin dan hanya membutuhkan daya yang kecil. Beberapa parameter pengujian yang diukur diantaranya daya motor, torsi motor, konsumsi bahan bakar, temperatur udara dan emisi kendaraan. Parameter-parameter pengukuran tersebut dimonitor selama pengujian dengan menggunakan chassis dyno tester. Dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa temperatur udara dapat diturunkan dari 30˚C menjadi 25˚C pada kondisi udara bergerak dan mesin dalam kondisi putaran idle. Namun performa kendaraan mengalami penurunan di bawah kondisi standar. Hal ini disebabkan adanya tahanan aliran udara akibat pemasangan sirip dan pipa pada saluran udara. Hasil lain yang didapatkan adalah penurunan kadar emisi karbon monoksida sebesar 9,8% dari kondisi standar. Kata kunci: thermoelektric cooler, fuel consumption, Emission.

The drying process is the key to the quality of the coffee produced. The allowable moisture conte... more The drying process is the key to the quality of the coffee produced. The allowable moisture content of coffee beans is 12%. The air mass flux, specific humidity, and the drying temperature are varied using a bed dryer drying system combined with a double condenser refrigeration system. Robusta coffee beans are used in this research to obtain the characterization of coffee beans. The highest drying rate constant is obtained by 2.44 × 10-4 s-1 directly proportional to the increased air mass flux and drying air temperature, with a value of 1.701 kg/s m2 and 80 °C, but inversely proportional to the specific humidity, with a value of 7.01 g/kg d.a. Loop heat pipe is a promising thermal control system, the same as a heat pipe, to realize the eff... more Loop heat pipe is a promising thermal control system, the same as a heat pipe, to realize the efficient release of heat from electric appliances. It is suitable for applications in electronics that have higher power density. Meanwhile, the heat pipe loop (LHP) can also be considered for adoption in the manufacture of solar hot water systems, due to its unique features such as effective thermal conductance and flexible design embodiments. However, the start-up problem of the LHP and transport distance and higher heat release capacity is still existed influencing the operating stability of the device. Base on the problem, this study focuses to carry out work on the developing a novel LHP system in order to provide a robust solution for significant enhance the ability energy transfer. This novel LHP is a conventional LHP that was modified by adding a diaphragm pump to accelerate the fluid transportation (called as hybrid loop heat pipe, HLHP). The pump is installed on the liquid line complete with a reservoir. It will work passively using the wick capillary pressure when there is no sign the occurrence of dry-out. In another hand, the pump was only activated when the evaporator temperature tends increased extremely because of the failure of startup. The experimental result showed that installed diaphragm pump in LHP modified system was able to prevent the occurrence of dry-out and significantly reduced the evaporator temperature. This study will contribute to energy savings and the utilization of renewable energy.

This experiment aimed to examine the performance of the coffee beans drying using low-temperature geothermal energy (LTGE) with solar energy as the energy source. Heat pipe heat exchanger, which consists of 42 straight heat pipes with staggered configuration, was used to extract the LTGE. The heat pipes have 700 mm length, 10 mm outside diameter with a filling ratio of 50%, and added by 181 pieces of aluminum with a dimension size of 76 mm × 345 mm × 0.105 mm as fins. LTGE was simulated by using water that is heated by three heaters and flowed by a pump. Meanwhile, to simulate the drying process with conventional methods, a system of solar air collectors made of polyurethane sheets with a thickness of 20 mm and dimensions of length × width × height = 160 cm × 76 cm × 10 cm, respectively, was used in this study. The content of AQ in tea leaves increases when there is incomplete combustion in the combustion of firewood for the energy source of withering and drying of tea leaves. This study aims to develop and test a new concept for the direct use of low-temperature geothermal energy with a heat pipe heat exchanger (HPHE) for the withering of tea leaves as a solution for energy sources free from AQ. The geothermal fluid simulators use water, which is heated by heater and flowed by a pump. The HPHE used consists of 42 heat pipes and 181 fins. Loop heat pipe is a promising thermal control system, the same as a heat pipe, to realize the eff... more Loop heat pipe is a promising thermal control system, the same as a heat pipe, to realize the efficient release of heat from electric appliances. It is suitable for applications in electronics that have higher power density. Meanwhile, the heat pipe loop (LHP) can also be considered for adoption in the manufacture of solar hot water systems, due to its unique features such as effective thermal conductance and flexible design embodiments. However, the start-up problem of the LHP and transport distance and higher heat release capacity is still existed influencing the operating stability of the device. Base on the problem, this study focuses to carry out work on the developing a novel LHP system in order to provide a robust solution for significant enhance the ability energy transfer. This novel LHP is a conventional LHP that was modified by adding a diaphragm pump to accelerate the fluid transportation (called as hybrid loop heat pipe, HLHP). The pump is installed on the liquid line complete with a reservoir. It will work passively using the wick capillary pressure when there is no sign the occurrence of dry-out. In another hand, the pump was only activated when the evaporator temperature tends increased extremely because of the failure of startup. The experimental result showed that installed diaphragm pump in LHP modified system was able to prevent the occurrence of dry-out and significantly reduced the evaporator temperature. This study will contribute to energy savings and the utilization of renewable energy.

This experiment aimed to examine the performance of the coffee beans drying using low-temperature geothermal energy (LTGE) with solar energy as the energy source. Heat pipe heat exchanger, which consists of 42 straight heat pipes with staggered configuration, was used to extract the LTGE. The heat pipes have 700 mm length, 10 mm outside diameter with a filling ratio of 50%, and added by 181 pieces of aluminum with a dimension size of 76 mm × 345 mm × 0.105 mm as fins. LTGE was simulated by using water that is heated by three heaters and flowed by a pump. The content of AQ in tea leaves increases when there is incomplete combustion in the combustion of firewood for the energy source of withering and drying of tea leaves. This study aims to develop and test a new concept for the direct use of low-temperature geothermal energy with a heat pipe heat exchanger (HPHE) for the withering of tea leaves as a solution for energy sources free from AQ. The geothermal fluid simulators use water, which is heated by heater and flowed by a pump. The HPHE used consists of 42 heat pipes and 181 fins.
