This article talks about polygamy in the perspective of "al-Amṡal Fī Tafsīr Kitāb Allāh al-Munazz... more This article talks about polygamy in the perspective of "al-Amṡal Fī Tafsīr Kitāb Allāh al-Munazzal", the Quran's commentary wich written by Nāṣir Makārim al-Syīrāzī. This article is kind of library's research. By employing gender theory and discriptical analysis method, this article is aiming to explore the Islamical polygamy concept from many sides. As the result of this research, "al-Amṡal Fī Tafsīr Kitāb Allāh Al-Munazzal" explained that polygamy was been known and practically committed by many nations in many places for a long time ago. This commentary book also explains the revelation's occasion of polygamy with the general description. Nāṣir Makārim al-Syīrāzī in this commentary book believes that Islam allows a man to commit the polygamy in requisite he had to treat all his wives fairly as possible. According to this commentary book, polygamy in Islam is not just about the relation men and their wives, but also firmly related with the social aspect, that means, in some conditions, polygamy will be needed to be committed by the society. Despite in such points of its view of polygamy, this commentary book shows the gender justness, but in other points, this commentary book is seemingly showing the biased gender instead. Abstrak Artikel ini membahas tentang poligami menurut sudut pandang kitab tafsir "al-Amṡal Fī Tafsīr Kitāb Allāh al-Munazzal" karya Nāṣir Makārim al-Syīrāzī. Dengan menggunakan metode analisa diskriptif dan teori gender, tulisan ini bertujuan untuk melihat poligami dari berbagai aspek. Di dalam temuan pelenelitainnya, penulis mendapati tafsir ini membahas poligami dari berbagai aspek. Dari segi historitasnya, tafsir ini menyinggung sejarah praktik poligami di beberapa bangsa dan zaman. Dari aspek sabab nuzū-nya tafsir ini hanya mengisahkan gambaran umum dari sebab turunnya ayat poligami tersebut. Sedangkan dari segi hukum, poligami oleh tafsir ini dinilai boleh, namun dengan persyaratan yang berat, yaitu mengharuskan pelakunya untuk mampu berlaku seadil-adilnya. Adapun dari segi sosial kemasyarakatan-nya, tafsir ini berpendapat bahwa dalam suatu kondisi tertentu, poligami sangat mungkin menjadi kebutuhan masyarakat. Dan pada bagian tertentu dari tafsir ini, dengan menggunakan kacamata gender, penulis menemukan beberapa poin yang mengisyaratkan keadilan gender. Namun, di banyak hal tafsir ini ternyata juga masih belum terlepas dari logika yang bias gender.
