In the article the dairy production is presented as a constituent of competitiveness, sustainabil... more In the article the dairy production is presented as a constituent of competitiveness, sustainability and security in the regional economic development. The main problem of dairy production is a low provision of Russian citizens with milk and dairy products according to the recommended norms of the Ministry of Healthcare of Russia. The main goal in this industry is to increase the share of domestic milk and dairy products in the national market till 90% for the food security enforcement in the Russian Federation. The aim of research is to analyze the opportunities of dairy production in the provision of competitiveness, sustainability and security of Russian regions. For this purpose the regional specificity of the added value chains is identified. The scenarios of development of the interregional market of dairy production are suggested. The implementation by the People’s Republic of China (PRC) of the measures concerning the develop... more The implementation by the People’s Republic of China (PRC) of the measures concerning the development of the sphere and the scale of the international use of its national currency provided the inclusion of the yuan since October 2016 together with the US dollar, euro, pound sterling and Japanese yen into the basket of currencies (Special Drawing Rights). In the article on the basis of the theoretical justification of the necessity of creation of all economic, institutional and organizational conditions of the internationalization of a currency factors that allowed achieving the contemporary level of the international use of the Chinese monetary unit as standard of value, unit of account and reserve currency are analyzed. The reasons contributing to the increase of the international status of the yuan in 2010–2015 are characterized. The determinants impeding the future growth of the demand for the national currency of China from the part of non-residents are discovered.

To build single innovation environment of the South Federal District aimed at effective innovation potential implementation within regional innovation systems it is recommended to strengthen integration of regions, public authorities, educational and research institutions, and industrial enterprises. Innovation potential implementation at the regional level has become a priority for state and local authorities which allows to set a path towards sustainable economic growth.

Attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) can act as a driving force for economic modernization ... more Attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) can act as a driving force for economic modernization of the recipient country and its regions. The paper focuses on the analysis of FDI role in the economy of the Volgograd region. Historical, comparative, tabular, diagram, relative and absolute indicators methods, and correlation analysis have been used. The analysis of some economic indicators for the period of 2011-2017 has shown that FDI share in GRP of the Volgograd region is smaller than that of Russia, and labour resources are not provided with adequate investment. Despite positive changes in the type and country structures, FDI is not distributed according to the real needs of certain sectors of regional economy. The correlation analysis has revealed that there is moderate or weak correlation between FDI and main economic indicators of the Volgograd region. The paper focuses on the changes in the economic, institutional, and organizational conditions fo... more The paper focuses on the changes in the economic, institutional, and organizational conditions for the world currency internationalization. The changes revealed are compared to the dynamics of the global demand for the US dollar, the euro, the pound sterling, the Japanese yen, and the Chinese yuan as a unit of account, medium of exchange and store of value, both in public and private sectors. The analysis concludes that there is no expected response of the world market participants to the choice of the world currency that corresponds to the conditions created in the issuer countries/group of countries. It is shown that increased use of the euro and the Chinese yuan as the world currencies is possible only after the issuers expand their contribution to the creation of the world product, provide full convertibility of the Chinese currency, and develop their internal financial markets.

The present research is focused on the analysis of dynamics and composition of the franchise market in Russia and Volgograd region. The comparative analysis, historical and statistical methods are used. The comparative assessment of the dynamics and sectoral composition of the world and Russian franchising markets for the period 2014–2020 makes it possible to identify a prospective franchising in Russia and Volgograd region, i.e. businesses of healthy food. It is shown that currently such kind of franchising is difficult to put into practice due to the lack of high quality food produced in Russia and limited target market.
