The present paper aims to estimate if there is any correlation between the indices of the satisfa... more The present paper aims to estimate if there is any correlation between the indices of the satisfaction of the employees who work in small tourism agencies and the indices of performances of the employees. In order to achieve the objective of the present paper, two studies were done in two different regions, one from Messina (Sicily), the other from Constanta (Romania). The data were collected by using a questionnaire with 31 questions (concerning the eight indices of employees satisfaction). The correlation between the satisfaction and performances was observed by calculating the Pearson coefficients. The case study showed that in Messina the employees are more satisfied with the work group environment and the relationships between the employees and managers; On the other hand, in Constanta the employees are less satisfied with the relationship with the direct supervisors and with the work environment. In order to achieve the objective of the present paper, two studies were done in two different regions, one from Messina (Sicily), the other from Constanta (Romania). The data were collected by using a questionnaire with 31 questions (concerning the eight indices of employees satisfaction). The correlation between the satisfaction and performances was observed by calculating the Pearson coefficients. The case study showed that in Messina the employees are more satisfied with the work group environment and the relationships between the employees and managers; On the other hand, in Constanta the employees are less satisfied with the relationship with the direct supervisors and with the work environment. Both the employees from Messina and Constanta are rather unsatisfied with their salaries and with the social facilities. In terms of performances, one can notice that the Romanians obtain better results than the Sicilians. Concerning the correlation between the satisfaction and the performances of the employees, the indices of satisfaction that have the highest impact on performance are: the work group/team, the direct supervision, the wage/compensations, the profession.

One can notice in nowadays organizations it is a common fact to find teams composed of members of... more One can notice in nowadays organizations it is a common fact to find teams composed of members of different nationalities. It was the author's curiosity to find out why do managers prefer to work with people of different nationalities and which are the advantages that a multicultural team has to offer. Many studies focused on finding out what effect has the cultural diversity on team outcomes. After analyzing the previous studies, one can conclude that the cultural diversity plays also a positive and a negative role on team performance. A case study was conducted in the romanian tourism organizations to find out if multicultural teams obtain better performances than monocultural teams. The sample was composed of 30 teams similar in terms of work processes and tasks, size, percentage of males and females (15 monocultural teams and 15 multicultural teams) and the method used to collect the data was the structured survey. The instrument used to interpretate the data was the five Likert scale. The results showed that multicultural teams obtain higher scores, are more inovative and offer new ideas and perspectives, but their members are more individualist when it comes to help others. Although the communication is more intense inside the multicultural teams, it hasn't been demonstrated it is related to work issues. This research could be a starting point for future studies on the relationship between cultural diversity and team performance.

The present case study was based on the hypothesis that, in the organizations that offer support to their employees, the teams with strong cohesion obtain better results compared with those with poor cohesion. The study was conducted in eight teams that share similar characteristic. The survey method was used for gathering data with two structured questionnaires: one questionnaire used for measuring the performance of the eight teams and another questionnaire used for measuring the team cohesion. The 5 point Likert scale was used to analyze both team performance and team cohesion. As a conclusion, the study revealed that the hypothesis is true, and the strong cohesive teams obtained higher scores in terms of performance, but the relationship between the two...
