We know three basic briquetting technologies - mechanical, hydraulic and screw. Screw press briquetting machine clearly produce the best-quality briquettes. The advantage of this sort of briquetting is that, as opposed to the other technologies, the briquettes are created continuously accordingly therefore are compactness, with high stiffness and densities. Average density of this kind of briquettes is 1.2–1.4 kg/dm3. Briquettes can be produced in a deference of shapes and sizes. Current designs of the screw press briquetting machine have several structural drawbacks. Among them belong high wear of the screw tools, and low axial bearing durability. During starting produce briquettes at the screw press briquetting machine we have to heating of the rotating screw and during operation we have to cooling it. The result of our research has been in first stage a solution for removing faults in the existing constructions of screw press briquetting machine. It was a new design of briquetting presses with two screw “back to back” arrangement and with changeable front end sides of screw. In the second stage we have designed totally new conception of the construction and kinematics of the screw compactor (PP-5022-2015, or UV 7380). The essence of the proposed solution of the compacting machine with “inverted kinematics”. Aim of presented article is describe and develop function model of original construction for a compacting machine with inverted kinematics.

The paper is primarily focused on the determination of the ultimate strength of pressed materials... more The paper is primarily focused on the determination of the ultimate strength of pressed materials in the form of steel sheets. The breaking strength of homogeneous materials such as e.g. steel sheet is not a relevant indication for pressed steel sheet waste material. The ultimate strength serves as a main parameter in the design of sheet metal cutting machines. For the design and technological design of machines and equipment for shearing steel waste in the form of pressed sheets, it is necessary to know the limit strength of the material. The paper describes in detail the experimental procedure and the principle of determining the ultimate strength of the steel waste sheet. Several dozen experimental samples of pressed metal waste were used. The very principle of the experiment consisted of sheared samples, while monitoring the shear force and the thickness of the pressed material. The ultimate strength of the shear material was calculated from the measured data. The measured and calculated data were statistically processed to increase the objectivity of the determination of the already mentioned ultimate strength parameter of the pressed waste sheets.

Depending on the spindle acceleration function over time, a dynamic trigger response is required when using the FEM feature. On this basis, it is possible to determine the technical and performance requirements for the spindle drive. For simulation results to match the true dynamic spindle response, the input values of the simulation model must be measured on the actual spindle. Therefore, based on real measurement, approximation of measured points, the initial curve was determined as input for the FEM model. It was necessary to perform a series of measurements of the initial spindle characteristic. The actual measurement data was then approximated to the initial curve for the simulation model. The aim of the paper is to analyze the application possibilities of the Vortec tube in relation t... more The aim of the paper is to analyze the application possibilities of the Vortec tube in relation to its energy and economic aspects.The first part consists of an introduction, a description of the energy separation phenomenon in the Vortec tube and the application possibilities and parameters affecting Vortec tube functioning.The second part of the paper deals with the energy balance and economic operational aspects of Vortec tubes produced commercially. The energy balance consists of a thermal calculation of the Vortec tube, the energy-efficiency identification of thermal energy production and a comparison with thermal equipment used in practice. The thesis next continues with an economic analysis of the Vortec tube’s operation, connected with the production of compressed gas. The output of this part is a cost assessment of thermal energy production by means of the Vortec tube and its economic classification in the thermal resources generally used in Slovakia.The last part of the paper includes a static thermal calculation of a dryer using hot air produced by the Vortec tube from the point of view its thermal and temperature potential.

This paper presents the theoretical design for experimental verification of the structural and te... more This paper presents the theoretical design for experimental verification of the structural and technological parameters of the Parallel Kinematic Structure. The experimental equipment was developed at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, STU in Bratislava. It is called Tricept, and due to its kinematics it is classified as a parallel structure. The previous phase of the project dealt with developing a mathematical model of the tool path. We have worked with two methods, a Monte Carlo method and the use of a mathematical analytical geometry structure. The calculated values were verified by comparing the results of the two methods. Based on the equations that were obtained, we can design the control of the tool path during cutting. The next stage focuses on the test methods and on verifying the structural and technological parameters of Tricept. The experiment is designed on the basis of the EN ISO 9283 standard, and involves testing the technological parameters: one-way positioning accuracy and repeatability of the position, changes of multidirectional positioning accuracy, repeatability and accuracy of the distance, position overshoot, drift of the position parameters, path accuracy, and repeatability of the path. This paper classifies the measurement methods and presents the measurement processes and the equipment for the experiment.

At present there is a permanently increasing demand from machine-tool users for metalworking and ... more At present there is a permanently increasing demand from machine-tool users for metalworking and fabrication machines for high speed cutting (HSC), which are the basic trend of the intensification of processes that means shortening of cycle times. The progress in building and applications of a new generation of machines was enabled by new cutting materials and tools, high revolution spindles, sophisticated types of leading, linear drives, etc. Actually, this progress is remarkable when it comes to the increase of the output of energy beam sources (laser, plasma, water beam) in the machines for cutting of material. That also increases demands for highly effective, high dynamic technological tables that create the support for cutting heads, while the demands for the quickness of these tables are extremely high with speeds up to 300 m/min.

The contribution deals with the trimming of beef cattle hooves by means of a new method, specific... more The contribution deals with the trimming of beef cattle hooves by means of a new method, specifically with a liquid water jet. Present methods of trimming hooves are outdated; almost nowhere are new modern technologies used for this purpose. The use of more contemporary methods would enable a reduction in the high labour demands to accomplish this task. But the main advantage of this new method is increasing so-called animal WELFARE. Present-day methods which are performed mechanically are always stressful, and many times also painful, for the animal. In the article we will specifically focus on the possibility of trimming the hooves of beef cattle by means of a water jet. The original research was focused on the size of the basic parameters such as pressure, flow, nozzle diameter and cutting time. The results of this initial research serve as a step towards further research, whose goal will be the design and testing of complex equipment for trimming beef cattle hooves by cutting with a liquid water jet.

Pressed steel sheets, in this case compacted vehicle bodies represent the structure diversity of ... more Pressed steel sheets, in this case compacted vehicle bodies represent the structure diversity of the non-homogeneous material. There is necessity to determine the shear strength for the development of the construction of new processing equipment (cutting) of steel sheets. To calculate the shear strength it is necessary to know the ultimate firmness of the material. For homogeneous materials this parameter is normally available in the tables. The article discusses the experimental detection of boundary strength of pressed metal of vehicle bodies. To gain some relevant statistical evaluation the samples of the car body have been divided into three groups according to the engine capacity. The experiment was evaluated by the following statistical methods, analysis of variance using the AIC criterion and Grubbs test for outliers. According to the analysis of the measured parameters the resulting mathematical model, which is used for determination of optimal values of boundary strength, has been established. The resulting mathematical model can be used to determine the boundary strength, which serves as an input parameter for the calculation of shear strength required for the development of new equipment designed for the processing of scrap metal, with cutting.

I compare the serial and parallel kinematic structures, which are the main carriers of industrial robots and manipulators. I show possibilities, advantages and disadvantages of both structures, the basic distribution and kinematics motion. Parallel mechanisms are characterized by their kinematic structure presented a closed kinematic chain. The end effector mechanism is coupled to the base of more than one arm. This design provides an advantage particularly high rigidity mechanism and other related properties. The disadvantage of such a construction is limited workspace. In terms of positioning and management of this structure because of its complexity rather problematic. It is a structure that allows quick positioning of the tool with three degrees of freedom. Drying is a well-known technological process by which agricultural products are treated so as to ... more Drying is a well-known technological process by which agricultural products are treated so as to be stored for longer times. Under the concept of drying are understood physical phenomena that, with the effect of heat, reduce the moisture content in the materials without a change in their chemical composition. Moisture is removed by condensation, evaporation or sublimation. The removal of moisture by methods other than by heat (e.g. mechanical or chemical) are not considered as drying. Agricultural materials in most cases represent biologically living organisms in their structure and composition of colloidal capillary-porous material. They contain a large number of microscopic pores, a microcapillary and a macrocapillary, in which water is able to pass from the inner to the grain surface or vice versa.

The article is devoted to the presentation of the results of the research project Req-00163-003 e... more The article is devoted to the presentation of the results of the research project Req-00163-003 entitled "Research of CNC technology nodes for cutting materials using energy-beam technologies". The aim of the project is a conceptual design of an automatic modular system for loading a workpiece onto a workbench of a laser cutting machine and unloading a completely cut sheet metal. The system will be designed for machines with a work area of 3x1,5m and 4x2m. The authors devote themselves to the design and development of the construction nodes, in particular the automatic sorting system, the problem of the vacuum suction cups, their correct distribution and correct choice of the individual types of suction cups. The paper presents partial results of the design of an automatic sheet metal loading and unloading system.

An experimental observation of the change in the free deflection of the workpiece from the positioning of the suction cups under gravity load by means of a laser 3D scanner was carried out for the FEM deflection detection method.

The structure of the development anti-flood barriers from recycled plastics is composed from meta... more The structure of the development anti-flood barriers from recycled plastics is composed from metal and plastic sources. When designing the geometry and constructing the barrier, the first stage was to design a structure based on the shape of unified blocks made from PP and PE. The last generation of metal construction was constructionally optimized by renowned producer KONSTRUKTA-Industry, a.s.. Unified plastic blocks were designed in Slovakia at Chemosvit Environchem, a.s. in cooperation with Chemosvit; the focus was to produce blocks made from recycled materials and their subsequent application for beneficial use. The structure underwent numerous optimization processes including load field trials, finite element analysis (FEA) and internal/external stability analysis. Production documentation, prototypes, and field tests were also performed. The latest changes to the design are being performed in order to prepare it for mass production.

To calculate the shear strength it is necessary to know the ultimate firmness of the material. For homogeneous materials this parameter is normally available in the tables. The article discusses the experimental detection of boundary strength of pressed metal of vehicle bodies. To gain some relevant statistical evaluation the samples of the car body have been divided into three groups according to the engine capacity. The experiment was evaluated by the following statistical methods, analysis of variance using the AIC criterion and Grubbs test for outliers. According to the analysis of the measured parameters the resulting mathematical model, which is used for determination of optimal values of boundary strength, has been established. The resulting mathematical model can be used to determine the boundary strength, which serves as an input parameter for the calculation of shear strength required for the development of new equipment designed for the processing of scrap metal, with cutting.

I compare the serial and parallel kinematic structures, which are the main carriers of industrial robots and manipulators. I show possibilities, advantages and disadvantages of both structures, the basic distribution and kinematics motion. Parallel mechanisms are characterized by their kinematic structure presented a closed kinematic chain. The end effector mechanism is coupled to the base of more than one arm. This design provides an advantage particularly high rigidity mechanism and other related properties. The disadvantage of such a construction is limited workspace. Under the concept of drying are understood physical phenomena that, with the effect of heat, reduce the moisture content in the materials without a change in their chemical composition. Moisture is removed by condensation, evaporation or sublimation. The removal of moisture by methods other than by heat (e.g. mechanical or chemical) are not considered as drying. Agricultural materials in most cases represent biologically living organisms in their structure and composition of colloidal capillary-porous material. They contain a large number of microscopic pores, a microcapillary and a macrocapillary, in which water is able to pass from the inner to the grain surface or vice versa.

We know three basic briquetting technologies - mechanical, hydraulic and screw. Screw press briquetting machine clearly produce the best-quality briquettes. The advantage of this sort of briquetting is that, as opposed to the other technologies, the briquettes are created continuously accordingly therefore are compactness, with high stiffness and densities. Average density of this kind of briquettes is 1.2–1.4 kg/dm3. Briquettes can be produced in a deference of shapes and sizes. The aim of the project is a conceptual design of an automatic modular system for loading a workpiece onto a workbench of a laser cutting machine and unloading a completely cut sheet metal. The system will be designed for machines with a work area of 3x1,5m and 4x2m. The authors devote themselves to the design and development of the construction nodes, in particular the automatic sorting system, the problem of the vacuum suction cups, their correct distribution and correct choice of the individual types of suction cups. The paper presents partial results of the design of an automatic sheet metal loading and unloading system.

An experimental observation of the change in the free deflection of the workpiece from the positioning of the suction cups under gravity load by means of a laser 3D scanner was carried out for the FEM deflection detection method.

When designing the geometry and constructing the barrier, the first stage was to design a structure based on the shape of unified blocks made from PP and PE. The last generation of metal construction was constructionally optimized by renowned producer KONSTRUKTA-Industry, a.s.. Unified plastic blocks were designed in Slovakia at Chemosvit Environchem, a.s. in cooperation with Chemosvit; the focus was to produce blocks made from recycled materials and their subsequent application for beneficial use. The structure underwent numerous optimization processes including load field trials, finite element analysis (FEA) and internal/external stability analysis. Production documentation, prototypes, and field tests were also performed. The latest changes to the design are being performed in order to prepare it for mass production.

The aim of the paper is to analyze the application possibilities of the Vortec tube in relation t... more The aim of the paper is to analyze the application possibilities of the Vortec tube in relation to its energy and economic aspects.The first part consists of an introduction, a description of the energy separation phenomenon in the Vortec tube and the application possibilities and parameters affecting Vortec tube functioning.The second part of the paper deals with the energy balance and economic operational aspects of Vortec tubes produced commercially. The energy balance consists of a thermal calculation of the Vortec tube, the energy-efficiency identification of thermal energy production and a comparison with thermal equipment used in practice. The thesis next continues with an economic analysis of the Vortec tube’s operation, connected with the production of compressed gas. The output of this part is a cost assessment of thermal energy production by means of the Vortec tube and its economic classification in the thermal resources generally used in Slovakia.The last part of the paper includes a static thermal calculation of a dryer using hot air produced by the Vortec tube from the point of view its thermal and temperature potential.
