This study examined the corrosion resistance of the metallic paint-coated, uncoated, and damaged ... more This study examined the corrosion resistance of the metallic paint-coated, uncoated, and damaged paint-coated form of the high-strength 6061 T6 Al alloy inside seawater. Solvent-based paint containing two different metallic pigments produced with an alkyd binder was produced and the coating of Al 6061 T6 alloy was made with this paint. To determine the course of corrosion electrochemical impedance spectroscopy method was used. Ecor and Rp values were calculated from potential and current change values. As a result, it was determined from the Ecor, Rp, SEM -EDX images, and Nyquist curves that the corrosion resistance of impact coatings was lower. The corrosion resistance of gold color paint substantially containing copper pigment was lower than that of silver color paint containing Al pigment was observed.

Bu çalışmada Acid Red 20 sentetik endüstriyel hafif azoboyar maddenin elektro-oksidasyon ile suda... more Bu çalışmada Acid Red 20 sentetik endüstriyel hafif azoboyar maddenin elektro-oksidasyon ile sudan uzaklaştırılması prosesi çalışılmıştır. Anot olarak Titanyum katot olarak ise çelik kullanılmıtır.100 mg/L sabit boya konsantrasyonunda ve ön denemeler sonucunda en uygun akım yoğunluğu olan 033 A/m 2 de çalışıldı. Arıtma prosesi üzerinde kullanılan tuz türünün (NaCI, NaCO3, Na2NO3 ve KC), tuz konsantrasyonunun (0.025 M, 0.050 M, 0.075 M ve 0.1 M), ortam pH' sının (doğal, 3, 5, 7, 9 ve11) ve karıştırma hızının (0, 150 rpm, 300 rpm ve 450 rpm) etkisi incelendi. Sonuç olarak proses için en uygun tuzun KCI olduğu belirlendi. Arıtım proseslerinde de en önemli giderin enerji olduğu göz önünde bulundurularak en uygun tuz konsantrasyonu 0.075 M KCI olarak belirlendi. Renk giderimi ve KOİ giderim veriminin karıştırma hızının artışıyla arttığı görüldü Sulu çözeltiden Acid Red 20 giderim verimi için %99.5 gibi önemli değere ulaşıldı. Elde edilen sonuçlar elektro-oksidasyon yönteminin hafif azoboyaların sulardan giderilmesinde kullanılabilir bir yöntem olduğunu göstermiştir In this study, the process of removing Acid Red 20 synthetic industrial light azo dyestuff from water by electro-oxidation was studied. It was observed that the color removal and COD removal efficiency increased with increasing mixing speed. Purpose This study aims to propose a solution to decrease the environmental pollution caused by a... more Purpose This study aims to propose a solution to decrease the environmental pollution caused by alkyd resins that harm the environment during their production and use. Design/methodology/approach A commercially produced polish formulation was used in the study. To reduce the use of this formulation in finishing polish, a water-saturated transparent solution of hydroxyethyl cellulose was used as a transparent filling material. Findings The use of hydroxyethyl cellulose at its optimum concentration in finishing polish only reduced the gloss by 0.027 per cent. The amount of alkyd was reduced by 24 per cent in weight. Research limitations/implications The literature contained highly limited information on this subject. No transparent filling material was found. Thus, no comparison can be made with other studies. Purpose The purpose of this study is to determine required paint and silicone proportions, their ... more Purpose The purpose of this study is to determine required paint and silicone proportions, their mixing rate and duration to eliminate the pattern problems caused by the misuse of silicone polymers in hammertone paints. Results of the findings aim at preventing raw material, manufacturing time and labour losses in hammertone paint production. Design/methodology/approach A paint formulation produced commercially was used. The effects of silicone proportion and mixing rate and paint and pigment density on the pattern formation within the paints, to which the spray painting method was applied, were investigated. Brightness controls of the produced paints were done, and the effect of the additive polymer on brightness was investigated. Photographs of paints for each practice were taken. Production of two different acids from their salts was carried out by electro dialysis (ED) using bipolar membranes (BPM). An virulent acid hydrofluoric acid and an weak acid boric acid were produced, all data were recorded and compared. Result of the study, in electro dialysis of acids and base, acid strength play an important role in terms of the efficiency of the process. Current efficiency was calculated very high at all processes for this electro dialysis (EDBM) system. This results in a growing demand for alternative process solutions such as Electro dialysis with Bipolar Membranes (EDBM).

In this study, the production of boric acid from borax was carried out by electrodialysis with bi... more In this study, the production of boric acid from borax was carried out by electrodialysis with bipolar membranes. The current efficiencies for boric acid and sodium hydroxide production by bipolar membrane electrodialysis were determined to be between 93.13 and 99.53%. In addition, the products with purity up to 99.52% (in weight) H 3 BO 3 and 99.12% (in weight) NaOH were obtained. This method gives a facility of producing of sodium hydroxide and boric acid without any harmful waste material and offers an alternative process to commercial production methods for boric acid and sodium hydroxide.

Kimyasal olarak sentezlenen polimerlerin aksine, bu polimerler hidroksi-acil-CoA turevlerinden farkli metabolik yollar araciligi ile elde edilir. The preset work investigated the problems associated with the gases generated during the producti... more The preset work investigated the problems associated with the gases generated during the production of an acid and an alkali from a sodium salt in a three-chamber electrodialysis cell with bipolar membranes remaining in the cell. The study was conducted at three different flow rates, three different potentials and at two different concentrations. All experiments were conducted repeatedly under both conditions where the gas exhaust ports of the cell were either on or off. The system was observed to underperform particularly under conditions where the gas produced during the process could not be removed and thus formed a surface film on the membrane and the electrodes of the cell. The loss of current efficiency was in the range of 15 – 28%. The study highlighted the significance of maintaining the optimal operating conditions in electrodialysis processes for the prevention of loss of energy and workforce.

Son zamanlarda endustriyel uretimdeki artisla beraber cevre ve su kirliliginde meydana gelen arti... more Son zamanlarda endustriyel uretimdeki artisla beraber cevre ve su kirliliginde meydana gelen artislar da onemli boyutlara ulasmistir. Bu calismada, uygun uretim plani yapilarak su bazli boyalarin uretimi sirasinda su kullaniminin ve boya kaybinin mumkun oldugunca azaltilmasi amaclanmistir. Bu kapsamda uygun bir planlama ile farkli renklerde 30 kazan boya uretimi neticesinde olasi gereken boya kaybi 2388 kg’dan 79.6 kg’a dusmustur. Hem su hem de boya kaybi acisindan ortalama %96,7’lik bir kazanc elde edilmistir. Bunun yani sira pigment kullaniminda da azalmalar oldugu gorulmustur. Boya kaybi engellenerek 30 kazan su bazli insaat boyasinda ortalama 2865.6 $’lik bir kazancin olacagi on gorulmustur. Bu calismada onerilen planlama ile su kaynaklarinin korunmasi, cevre kirliliginin ve ekonomik kayiplarin onlenmesi icin oldukca onemli veriler elde edilmistir.

Ayni zamanda boyar madde tane boyutunun artmasiyla cokelme miktarinin da arttigi gozlenmistir. Eski boyalar ile yapilan calismalarin disinda toz pigmentler 0-5 boyutunda ezilerek yeni boya numuneleri hazirlanmis, bu numuneler bes yil boyunca periyodik olarak incelenmistir.
