This research investigates the status of lesbian couples in Padang City, Indonesia, an Islamic ci... more This research investigates the status of lesbian couples in Padang City, Indonesia, an Islamic city where the government tries aggressively to eradicate any lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) community or activity. Moreover, the people of Padang also reject lesbians' very existence, thus making them hide their homosexual identity. Consequently, these women find it difficult to meet the partner they need for the fulfillment of their orientation with the same sex. This condition led to various strategies to maintain longterm relationships. The approach in this research was a qualitative case study. Resources were selected by purposive sampling and numbered six. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews. Data validity was ensured by triangulation. The data analysis technique was interactive analysis, as proposed by Miles and Huberman: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Findings indicate that the strategy of maintaining spouses among lesbians in Padang City are: (1) maintaining a partner with violence, (a) physical violence, (b) mental violence; (2) maintaining a partner with nonviolence, (a) sustaining a partner with material goods, (b) sustaining a partner with sexual fulfillment, (c) sustaining a partner by exposing affection on social media.

Student transvestites choose virtual spaces as places to showcase and acknowledge their gender. Seeing that reality will bear different meanings for people who experience their self-identity creates a distinct experience for student transvestites during college due to social media. Therefore, researchers are interested to explore the self-representation of student transvestites on social media. This study analyzed the theory of simulacra and hyperreality of Jean Baudrillard. Padang is one of the big cities on the West Coast of Sumatra which is at risk of earthquakes and ... more Padang is one of the big cities on the West Coast of Sumatra which is at risk of earthquakes and tsunamis. Meanwhile, campus should be a model that is able to play an important role in disaster mitigation. The study aims to identify and develop tentative model instrument for the evaluation of campuses with the earthquake and tsunami disaster mitigation insight. The method used in this research is literature study such as decisions or policies, results of studies, technical guidelines, books, and publications, both covering earthquakes and tsunamis. The structured instrument model is expected to be a tentative model that will continue to be tested and developed through expert validation and testing both limited and extensive trials. In this study, only tentative model instruments will be presented. This instrument is useful for assessing and recommending earthquake and tsunami disaster mitigation actions for campuses, especially in the city of Padang.

Phone sex is a type of virtual sex that refers to sexually explicit act that take place between t... more Phone sex is a type of virtual sex that refers to sexually explicit act that take place between two or more people over the phone, especially when one of the participants or partner sex, masturbation or perform sexual fantasies. In this study, the phone sex offender is a student. This study is analyzed by deploying Differential Association Theory developed by Edwin H. Sutherland. The approach used is qualitative, with a case study type. This research is conducted in Padang City. The data is collected by snowball sampling of 14 informants. Data collection techniques in research are executed through observation and in-depth interviews. This study is analyzed by interactive analysis developed by Milles and Huberman. This analysis technique consists of three components: data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results of this study revealed that the consequences phone sex in student behavior phone sex actors in Padang are: (A) Triggering offender activity in the night life, (B) There are consequences for the social environment. These findings include: (1) keeping secret their phone sex life from their close friends, and (2) developing a network of friends to fellow lovers of the night life.

The study is an effort to collect, study, analyze, and describe data related to the physical development and morphological development of Sungai Penuh; it also aims to identify and analyze the factors that have influenced the development of the city. This is an explorative study, and it involves a quantitative, as well as a mixed method approach. The quantitative approach involves the use of map analysis, and the qualitative approach involves the snowball sampling technique, which requires the researcher to collect information from informants. The results reveal that the development of Sungai Penuh can be grouped into three stages: the infantile stage (1900-1969), the pre-juvenile stage (1970-1989), and the juvenile stage in (1990-2015).
