Meanwhile, the balanced scorecard strategynecessitates the incorporation of numerous measures derived from the implementation of strategies, ultimately guidingthe business towardits long-term orientation. The same is true for evaluating the effectiveness of a supply chain. The Business Service Chain (BSC)takes three viewpoints of the Supply Chain Operations Reference (SCOR)and expands them into four: financial, customer, internal business, and innovation and learning. Both the SCORand BSC methods can be utilized to implement a sustainable supply chain management system. These two methodswereemployed to solve supply chain issues in the constructionindustry. BSC aimed to compensate forSCOR’s limited focus on performance by considering two angles—those of internal business operations and customers. When compared to SCOR, BSC’s uniformity in the supply chain allo...

This paper aimed to create an embodied and operational energy assessment concept based on a project life cycle using qualitative methods through a research questionnaire. In the questionnaire, there were 18 indicators based on a literature review relating to embodied and operational energy within the scope of the project life cycle (initiation, design, construction, and operation). Indicator assessment used a Likert scale and was analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares. Respondents in this study include consultants, contractors, and stakeholders. The results of the study showed a significant relationship between the initiation and design phases of the construction phase and the operational phase to minimize energy. Stakeholder commitment to the environment and planning that prioritizes energy efficiency (embodied and operational energy) had the highest T-Statistic values of 100.479 and 61.581 with a 95% confidence level. This showed the role of stakeholders and designers is crucial to the reduction in energy embodied and operational during the project life cycle, so that awareness and commitment are needed in realizing green construction.

Furthermore, bridge construction is one of the infrastructure buildings which consume the largest amount of energy due to the materials, transportation, and heavy equipment used in the process. It is, however, important to reduce the energy consumed at each stage of the construction in order to ensure a decrease in the environmental impacts. This study was conducted to calculate the total energy consumed in a bridge project and the process was optimized to reduce the amount of energy used in the initiation, design, construction, and operation activities. Data were collected through observations of 3 bridge projects in the Central Java region, Indonesia. Furthermore, a reinforced concrete type of bridge was used and the amount of energy at each stage was determined by multiplying the volume of materials, electricity, and fuel used with the energy coefficient. The results showed the total energy generated in bridge projects 1

This research analyses the impacts of road construction projects of flexible and rigid pavement by adopting the Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA) approach, and by means of the Eco-Indicator 99 (EI99). The impact values at the production, construction and maintenance stages for the flexible pavement are 86.60 kPt (49.34%), 65.40 (37.26%) and 23.50 kPt (13.39%), while for the rigid pavement equals 47.70 kPt (60.46%), 31.20 (39.54%) and 0 kPt (0%), respectively. It is smaller than the flexible pavement, i.e. 175.50 kPt and 78.9 kPt, respectively. The results of the EI99 show the impact values of the flexible pavement from the aspects of human health, ecosystem quality, and resources are 11.99 kPt (6.83%), 2.17 kPt (1.24%), and 161.40 kPt (91.93%), while for the rigid pavement of 29.49 kPt (37.43%), 37.80 kPt (4.79%), and 45.54 kPt (57.78%), respectively. The total impact v...

One indicator of an environmentally friendly road pavement project is that it must be low in energy and low in emissions. The aims of this study are to conduct a literature review to determine the extent of the previous research that have been carried out, as well as the consumption of energy in the construction projects. The results will be used as a basis for developing critical thinking and conceptual frameworks to fill the research gaps and provide novelty for further research. The study was conducted using a qualitative bibliometric analysis method by identifying selected academic publications from Scopus database with the use of VOSviewer software to process the data.
