Some of the guidelines for developing usable speaker authentication dialogs correspond to basic principles that apply to the design of good speech recognition interactions. Developing effective speaker authentication dialogs for security also demands attention to considerations that are distinct from – and sometimes contrary to – those used for speech recognition. Key words: speaker authentication, speaker verification, speaker recognition, biometrics, voice-based biometrics

How to determine that normalization? The position regarding the first question is that audio formats can be normalized. The response to the second question is a proposal that supports the representation of spoken audio using only existing standards. The proposal is part of a draft standard developed by the the M1 (biometrics) committee of the computing technology sector (InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards) of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI/INCITS) that is undergoing the public review process.
