The guiding line of the research is based on the premise that the conception that guides this integration is coherent with a project of social development that denies the immediate relation of education with the labor market, having the full human formation as a horizon, but it recognizes the professionalization as a necessary mediation for the working class to produce its existence through its work in a dignified manner. The empirical study was carried out by analyzing the political and pedagogical projects of three CEIERs located in Espirito Santo northwest cities – Aguia Branca (CEIER/AB), Boa Esperanca (CEIER/BE) e Vila Pavao (CEIER/VP) – articulated to the interviews with directors, teachers and students of these schools. So, the present study was conducted to evaluate the optimal dose of VM for growing Nellore bulls on tropical pasture. Two experiments were conducted. The first experiment, one hundred and two Nellore bulls (307 ± 25 kg body weight [BW]; 22 months) were used. Animal performance was evaluated using a randomized block design, with group as experimental unit (n = 8; 12 animals each). The second experiment, a double 4 × 4 Latin square, eight animals were used to evaluate the ruminal parameters. Four doses were evaluated: 0, 35, 55, and 75 mg VM per 100 kg BW. The average daily gain (P = 0.08) and carcass gain (P = 0.05) exhibited a trend of quadratic behavior. An increased dose of VM did not affect supplement intake (P = 0.64), rumen pH (P = 0.96), acetate: propionate ratio (P = 0.73), or the total concentration of volatile fatty acid (P = 0.63). The concentration of rumen ammonia nitrogen exhibited a...

Two hundred and eighty intact male Nellore cattle (348 ± 32 kg body weight, 22 months) received one of the following five diets: control diet (without additives); diet containing VM (25 mg per kg dry matter) combined with 0 (MON0), 10 (MON10), 20 (MON20) or 30 (MON30) mg MON per kg dry matter. During adaptation (28 days), the MON0 diet increased dietary net energy for maintenance and gain compared to the control diet (P = 0.04). The combination of additives linearly reduced dry matter intake, body weight and average daily gain (P < 0.01). Considering the total study period (110 days), there was a trend of greater net energy intake for maintenance (P = 0.09) and hot carcass weight (P = 0.06) for animals fed MON0 compared to the control diet. The combination of additives linearly reduced dry matter intake (P = 0.04) and linearly increase...

The pseudo Leslie model is a matrix that can be decomposed in a row matrix, which is not necessarily non-negative and a subdiagonal positive matrix. This technique has computational advantages, since the solutions of the iterative problem using Leslie matrices are readily obtained. In the case of two age structured population models, one Lefkovitch and another Leslie, the Kolmogorov-Sinai entropies are different, despite the same growth ratio of both models. We prove that Markov matrices associated to similar population matrices are similar.

Marandu pasture during the transition period from the dry to rainy season. The experiment was installed on an area of 34 ha, divided into 12 paddocks with an average area of 2.85 ha. In the performance evaluation were utilized 72 recently weaned, non-castrated Nellore cattle with an initial body weight (BW) of 199 kg (SEM=16). The following supplements were used: energy protein supplement containing 25 % crude protein (CP) (C-25) and energy protein supplements containing 40 % CP with one third highly degradable CP and two thirds poorly degradable CP (40-1/3NPN), one half highly degradable CP and one half poorly degradable CP (40-1/2NPN), and two thirds highly degradable CP and one third poorly degradable CP (40-2/3NPN). Higher protein degradation rates reduced supplement intake (P<0.01). In the first period, animals consuming supplement 40-1/3NPN exhibited higher average daily gain (ADG) (0.30 kg/day), similar to that of animals receiving supplement 40-1/2NPN (P = 0.04). In the second period, supplement 40-2/3NPN resulted in lower ADG (0.19 kg/day less than the other supplements). There was no effect of supplement on animal performance in the third period (P>0.10), when ADG was 0.56 kg/day. In conclusion, the response to supplementation is associated with interactions with characteristics of the forage canopy. Supplementation with a true protein source will be beneficial only during the early stage of the dry-rainy season transition period.

The concepts of kneading matrix and kneading determinant of an infinite order linear recurrence, introduced in this work, are defined in a purely linear algebraic context. These concepts extend the classical notions of Frobenius companion matrix to infinite order linear recurrences and to the associated discriminant of finite order linear recurrences. Asymptotic Binet formulas are deduced for general classes of infinite order linear recurrences as a consequence of the analytical properties of the generating functions obtained for the solutions of these infinite order linear recurrences.

ABSTRACT. Determination of drying kinetics and isotherms of orange bagasse. Knowing the behavior of orange bagasse during drying is very important when using it for technological purposes, as is the case of its application as an adsorbent. This work had as objective the determination of the kinetics and isotherms of orange bagasse drying. In order to obtain the drying and drying rate curves, the bagasse was dried in a convective drier, at temperatures from 33 to 92°C, with constant air speed of 1.3 m s-1. The equilibrium isotherms were determined using the Thermoconstanter Novasina device, with temperatures between 25 and 45°C. The moisture of the bagasse on a dry basis (d.b.) was determined by the furnace method. The drying curves and drying rate curves showed that the increase in temperature decreased drying time, due to an increase in the drying rate. In equilibrium isotherms, the increase in temperature caused an increase in equilibrium moisture content, a factor attributed to the characteristic of the material. The experimental data were adjusted to the BET, SABBAH and OSWIN models; under the studied conditions, the SABBAH model presented the best adjustment, with a correlation coefficient of 0.99.

The interactive protocol with the decision maker is based on the specification of reservation levels for the objective function values. These reservation levels narrow the scope of the search in each interaction in order to identify regions of major interest to the decision maker. Metaheuristic approaches are used to generate potentially nondominated solutions in the computational phases. Generic versions of Simulated Annealing and Tabu Search for 0-1 single objective linear problems were developed which include a general routine for repairing unfeasible solutions. This routine improves significantly the results of single objective problems and, consequently, the quality of the potentially nondominated solutions generated for the multiobjective problems. Computational results and examples are presented.

METHODS: The model used was the healing activity on wounds induced by surgical incision on rats skin (n = 44). The parameters analyzed (11 days) were wound healing rate and histology (vascular proliferation, polymorphonuclear or mononuclear cells, and collagen synthesis or reepithelialization), after application of free lipoic acid or lipoic acid-loaded nanocapsules. The antioxidant activity of these formulations was evaluated by lipid peroxidation test. RESULTS: It was demonstrated for the first time that the topical application of lipoic acid improves wound healing. On the seventh day after surgery, the animals treated with lipoic acid showed increased healing rate (60.7 ± 8.4%) compared to the negative control group (43.0 ± 17.4%), as so improvement of histological parameters. The nanoencapsulation reverted the pro-oxidant activity presented in vitro by lipoic acid, whereas diminished wound repair. CONCLUSIONS: The topical application of lipoic acid produced an increase in the skin wound healing, which may be related to its pro-oxidant activity. On the other hand, the nanoencapsulation of the lipoic acid reversed the pro-oxidant activity, although presented minor healing activity.

Cross-flow microfiltration is an attractive alternative method for fluid clarification and sterilization in the brewing industries. The advantages are: elimination of filter aids, reduced beer losses and better product quality. The performance is still limited in flux terms due to membrane fouling. This work aimed to study the mechanism of fouling in beer microfiltration by means of calculating resistances. The experiments were conducted in batch with raw beer, in a cross flow ultrafiltration pilot unit. The membranes were tubular ceramics, with mean pore diameter of 0.2; 0.3; 0.4; 0.6 and 0.8 µm and the pressures work were from 1.0 to 4.0 bar, at a temperature of 6±1ºC. From the model of resistances in series, the values obtained were of membrane intrinsic resistance, resistances due to polarization of concentration and colmatage.

We present the first public data release (DR1) of the Calar Alto Legacy Integral Field Area (CALI... more We present the first public data release (DR1) of the Calar Alto Legacy Integral Field Area (CALIFA) survey. It consists of science-grade optical datacubes for the first 100 of eventually 600 nearby (0.005 < z < 0.03) galaxies, obtained with the integral-field spectrograph PMAS/PPak mounted on the 3.5 m telescope at the Calar Alto observatory. The galaxies in DR1 already cover a wide range of properties in color-magnitude space, morphological type, stellar mass, and gas ionization conditions. This offers the potential to tackle a variety of open questions in galaxy evolution using spatially resolved spectroscopy. Two different spectral setups are available for each galaxy, (i) a low-resolution V500 setup covering the nominal wavelength range 3745-7500 Å with a spectral resolution of 6.0 Å (FWHM), and (ii) a medium-resolution V1200 setup covering the nominal wavelength range 3650-4840 Å with a spectral resolution of 2.3 Å (FWHM). We present the characteristics and data structure of the CALIFA datasets that should be taken into account for scientific exploitation of the data, in particular the effects of vignetting, bad pixels and spatially correlated noise. The data quality test for all 100 galaxies showed that we reach a median limiting continuum sensitivity of 1.0 × 10 −18 erg s −1 cm −2 Å −1 arcsec −2 at 5635 Å and 2.2 × 10 −18 erg s −1 cm −2 Å −1 arcsec −2 at 4500 Å for the V500 and V1200 setup respectively, which corresponds to limiting r and g band surface brightnesses of 23.6 mag arcsec −2 and 23.4 mag arcsec −2 , or an unresolved emission-line flux detection limit of roughly 1 × 10 −17 erg s −1 cm −2 arcsec −2 and 0.6 × 10 −17 erg s −1 cm −2 arcsec −2 , respectively. The median spatial resolution is 3. 7, and the absolute spectrophotometric calibration is better than 15% (1σ). We also describe the available interfaces and tools that allow easy access to this first public CALIFA data at http://califa.caha.es/DR1.

Evaluation of fouling in beer microfiltration: a study of resistances. Cross-flow microfiltration... more Evaluation of fouling in beer microfiltration: a study of resistances.

Thus, the report begins with the explanation of the budget's importance and characterization of the construction market in this context of the current financial situation that the country faces. Then a study of the art on the issues of costs and budgets, and also an approach to costs of construction was carried out. After analyzing all the methodology inherent in budgeting, are characterized processes of group companies for the act of budgeting. A study case was approached to demonstrate how the act of budgeting is developed and an analysis was performed on the basis of proposals submitted in order to refine the budgeting process in order to make a competitive offer but always safeguarding the viability, which is the strategy adopted by the company.
