The teaching practicum is probably the most genuine period of professional training at the teachi... more The teaching practicum is probably the most genuine period of professional training at the teaching degree. The use of tools such as the teacher's professional journal helps to reflect and systematize the experience of the teacher in training. This chapter includes the design of a mobile application to facilitate the use of the teacher's professional journal through its digitalization in order to experience the benefits it brings as a tool that favors the teacher's own practice and professional development. An analysis of the content of 20 teacher journals written by students of Infant Education at the University of Salamanca was made with the aim of extracting the main reflection topics. The result was a carefully produced indexing tree that has been used as an analysis tool in the NVIVO12 software for the study of qualitative data. The tree allowed extracting a significant and complete categorization of the teacher's professional journal that makes possible its analysis and constitutes the starting point for the design of the prototype of the mobile application in a paper, which will be developed. The digitization of the professional teachers' diary based on the most frequent topics of the teachers themselves in practice shows the relevance of the diary since it is based on a thematic index that arises from practice, not theory. This will favor its implementation both by teachers in training and by active professionals contributing to their professional development.

Motivar a las mujeres a estudiar ingeniería es uno de los objetivos que se pueden encontrar en los planes estratégicos no solo de grandes empresas tecnológicas sino también de organizaciones, instituciones y gobiernos. La incorporación de la perspectiva de género en los currículos de educación superior se considera un factor clave a la hora de que los jóvenes comprendan la realidad social. Bajo este marco surge el proyecto de innovación docente cuyo objetivo es incorporar la

Una de las áreas de oportunidad más comentadas en temas de gestión de las organizaciones educativ... more Una de las áreas de oportunidad más comentadas en temas de gestión de las organizaciones educativas es la que se refiere a la evaluación. Por lo general, las universidades limitan la generación de datos estadísticos a informes anuales que brindan sus rectores y a responder a peticiones gubernamentales para estadísticas nacionales. Cada tres o cuatro años, las universidades que así lo han decidido, o que lo tienen que hacer por ley, participan en un proceso de autoevaluación que precede a otro de acreditación. Fuera de estos casos, es difícil ver ejemplos dignos de destacarse que vean a la evaluación institucional como un proceso continuo, como una función inherente a la gestión escolar y como un insumo valioso para la toma de decisiones.
New methods for applying videos for learning are needed in teacher education. The videos are espe... more New methods for applying videos for learning are needed in teacher education. The videos are especially useful in student teachers’ construction of action-oriented knowledge. Explication of practice and formation of students’ action-oriented knowledge are more successful when they are guided through reflection. Videos help to situate learning, explicate tacit understandings, develop habits of reflection, improve self-awareness, integrate theoretical and practical understandings, and analyze details of student teachers’ own lessons. Therefore, a new innovative video learning environment was developed to allow student teachers and teacher educators to reflect, widen, share, and implement pedagogical practices and knowledge resources related to teaching, teacher learning, and supervision. This video learning environment enables student teachers to upload short videos about their critical incidents that characterize meaningful fragments of their classroom practices and interaction with pupils that are especially critical and thus useful for learning as teachers. These videos can be viewed by all users of the environment or by groups specified by the owner of the video. This video learning environment was tested by student teachers, their supervising teachers, and university lecturers according to the needs of using it for guided reflection in constructing action-oriented knowledge. The results of this study showed that the learning environment can be applied for student teachers’ training. It was especially important that all users found this learning environment easy to use and safe for presenting and analyzing ethically sensitive material. In addition, several recommendations were made to be considered in different video learning environments.
