Several investigations have been carried out to eliminate negative impacts on the insurance industry as this immoral act has caused the loss of billions of dollars. In this paper, a comparative study was carried out to assess the performance of various classification models, namely logistic regression, neural network (NN), support vector machine (SVM), tree augmented naïve Bayes (NB), decision tree (DT), random forest (RF) and AdaBoost with different model settings for predicting automobile insurance fraud claims. Results reveal that the tree augmented NB outperformed other models based on several performance metrics with accuracy (79.35%), sensitivity (44.70%), misclassification rate (20.65%), area under curve (0.81) and Gini (0.62). In addition, the result shows that the AdaBoost algorithm can improve the classification performance of the decision tree. These findings are useful for insurance professionals to identify potential insurance fraud claim cases.

A total of 250 teachers from 25 primary schools participated in this study. This study used questionnaire for data collection. The data were analysed by using descriptive and correlation tests to investigate the relationship between the focused factors. The results showed that the level of leadership among teachers is moderate. The findings also showed that there is a significant relationship between school culture and teachers' attitude and personality factors with teacher leadership. Meanwhile, the management support factor does not show a significant relationship with teacher leadership. This study suggested that the competency and leadership courses should be provided to teachers including the management, to improve the leadership skills of teachers in schools.

Specifically, this study examines the aspiration of value education in Malaysia, teachers' methods of teaching in values and how the pupils apply the values studied. A total of 54 teachers and 152 students participated in this study. This study used both qualitative and quantitative methods. The data obtained from the questionnaire set were analysed by using descriptive statistics whereas theme analysis was used for data obtained from interview sessions. The findings show that moral value education in Malaysia aims to develop the moral values of the pupils in order to face the challenging world. Teachers use different approaches in nurturing moral values at school. However, pupils are less able to internalize and practice the moral values that they have learned. It is suggested that some aspects need to be emphasised in nurturing moral values namely; to provide sufficient time to conduct activities both inside and outside the classroom, and ensuring integration of value aspects in all school activities/ programmes as well as the integration of value aspects in all subjects in school. The findings of the study provide guidance to all stakeholders including teachers on nurturing moral values in school.

A total of 87 primary and secondary school teachers from several states were selected. This study used questionnaires to collect data. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings showed that the level of knowledge is relatively high, while students' degree of skills and attitudes about global citizenship are relatively moderate. In addition, at the primary school level, the mean scores are relatively low compared to the secondary school level. The findings also showed that students' knowledge, skills, and attitudes in secondary schools are higher than in primary schools. This study proposed a more structured global citizenship education to be embedded in the schools' education structure and as a guideline that can be followed by all teachers to produce students who are willing to become aspiring global citizens for national and global well-being.

Risk management has become a major challenge for SMEs in the country due to the lack of experience and knowledge. This research focuses on 'Risk Practical Management Strategies' adopted by SMEs to manage risk. The research is accomplished through a qualitative approach, gathered primary data through interviews and analyzed thematically to establish the trends and patterns in the data. The findings show that there is substantial awareness of the importance of risk management specially in financial and operational which are the key risks faced by businesses, coupled with reputational risk that is associated with the increased use of ecommerce. The RPMS are largely linked to training and developing awareness about risk among SMEs.

School Based Assessment (SBA) is a new transformation in Malaysian education that required subject teachers to conduct formative assessment during teaching and learning process according to the procedures by Malaysian Examination Syndicate (MES). Thus, teachers play an important role in the implementation of the national education policy in order to develop students' potential and achievement in physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual. This requires teachers' contributions of effort, involvement, and overall professionalization. This study aims to investigate teachers' readiness, understanding, and workload in implementing SBA. Further, this study also seeks to determine the relationship between teachers' understanding and workload, as well as between teachers' readiness and workload. Participants were comprised of 260 teachers from primary schools in the district of Kerian. The results showed that the level of teachers' understanding and readiness towards implementing SBA is high. However, the workload level among teachers was also high. Correlation analysis indicated that there is a significant negative relationship between teachers' understanding and readiness with the level of workload.

Therefore, this paper aims to estimate the magnitude of ML in the UAE between 1975 and 2020 based on the currency demand approach (CDA). Design/methodology/approach The study uses the Gregory–Hansen cointegration technique alongside the autoregressive distributed lag bounds testing procedure to estimate the CDA model. Findings The results illustrate that an amount equivalent to about 19.034% of the GDP is laundered in the UAE between 1975 and 2020, on average, with the value lying between 15.129% and 23.121%. In addition, the results demonstrate the importance of the real estate market, gold trade, remittance channels and the size of the underground economy in facilitating the laundering of illicit funds in the country. Employing the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) bound testing approach, the results indicate the existence of an inverted U-shaped PECK. In other words, public expenditure-fiscal deficit relationship exhibits an inverted U-shaped in the long-run, feature with public expenditure expanding in the early phases of rising fiscal deficit, and falling in the latter phases. Using the quadratic specification, the threshold of 22.45 percent is obtained for fiscal deficit (as a share of the GDP), and Dh. 6.583 billion for public expenditure. Moreover, the results illustrate that oil price, outflow of money, FDI outflow and interest rate are other important determinants of public expenditure in the country. Based on this evidence, policies aimed at reducing fiscal deficit through rationalisation of spending and prioritising of investment in human capital development are encouraged.

Due to the lack of studies on the ML’s issue in the UAE, this study aims to examine the determinants of ML in the country between 1975 and 2020. Design/methodology/approach The autoregressive distributed lag bounds testing results demonstrate the presence of long-run relationship between ML and the selected macroeconomics variables. The analysis is validated by the dynamic ordinary least squares, the fully modified ordinary least squares and the canonical co-integration regression estimators. Findings The estimation result reveals that while the real estate market, outflow of money, arms procurement and size of the underground economy influences the size of ML positively, gold trade, the level of financial development and the size of economic activities are negatively associated with ML, both in the short- and...

This study is conducted at six high performing primary schools in Selangor, Malaysia. The data are gathered from two phases of data collections. The sample of the study consists of 244 teachers who are chosen using random sampling technique. The analysis has been done through two sets of data. The exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis are used to obtain construct validity. The Cronbach Alpha of professional learning items is .90, while for each factor developed ranged from .87 to .92. Meanwhile, the Cronbach Alpha of teacher leadership items is .84, while for each factor developed ranged from .76 to .88. The findings indicate that professional learning practice has significant effect on the teacher leadership, 22.4% of variance in teacher leadership was accounted for by professional learning models. The implications of this study show that the usage of various professional learning models has important impact toward teacher leadership. By creating different types of professional learning models such as individually-guided learning, study group, and training that aligned with teachers` needs will enhance teacher leadership.

In order to achieve the aims of this study, quarterly time series data from the first quarter of 2001 until the fourth quarter of 2017 was utilised. The Johansen Juselius Co-integration test was used to investigate long run equilibrium in the equation system, and the Granger Causality test in Vector Error Correction framework was used to evaluate the long-term and short-term relationships between the study variables. The findings suggest that a relationship exists between the variables in the long term, including unemployment interest rate, inflation and economic growth across the system equations. The results further suggest that, in the short run, a two-way causality exists between unemployment and economic growth. Moreover, the results show that unemployment affects economic grow...
