This study was to investigate the factors influencing job satisfaction of nurses in long-term car... more This study was to investigate the factors influencing job satisfaction of nurses in long-term care hospitals focusing on burnout and burden. The participants were 206 nurses recruited from long-term care hospitals in B metropolitan city and C city. Data were collected from January to March, 2014 and analyzed using SPSS WIN 18.0 program. The frequency of experience was 1.65±0.42, which is 4~5 times per month and once or twice per week in the problematic behavior in dementia. The frequency of burden was 1.46±0.48, which means one nurse can solve the problematic behaviors in dementia. Burnout was 2.53±0.61, and job satisfaction was 2.87±0.45. Negative correlations were found between burden and job satisfaction (r=-.256, p=.003), and between burnout and job satisfaction (r=-.718, p<.001). A factor influencing job satisfaction was burnout (β=-.735), which explained 57%. It is suggested that Intervention programs should be developed to reduce burnout and burden, and to increase job satisfaction for nurses.

The objective of the study was to determine the awareness level of women of Abua central on cervical cancer screening and the practice, and the objectives were translated into research questions. Literature was reviewed, a purposeful sampling technique was used to select a sample size of (50) fifty from a target population of (200) two hundred women, the instrument used for the study was a self-developed questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of two sections A and B, section A consisted of personal data’s and section B consisted of questions on the variables used to answer the research questions. The questionnaire a design of four Likert scales of agree, strongly agree, disagree and strongly disagree was used. It ascertained the factors that affect nurses’ satisfaction in tertiary health care centers in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Four objectives and hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The population of the study consisted of four hundred and twenty (420) nurses in Government-owned tertiary health care centres in Port Harcourt which was further reduced to a sample size of two hundred and five (205), using Taro Yamane’s formula while Kendall tau b was implored in testing the null hypotheses. The findings revealed that a significant relationship exists between working conditions, pay/salary, professional esteem, bum out and nurses’ job satisfaction in tertiary health care centers in Port Harcourt. This research study investigated the perception and acceptance of in vitro fertilization amongst infertile couples attending fertility clinics in the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital Choba in Rivers State. The objectives were: to ascertain the opinion of couples on in vitro fertilization procedure, to determine the level of acceptance of in vitro fertilization among couples and to identify challenges facing the acceptance of in-vitro fertilization amongst couples.
