The relation between differents forms of teaching labor and the reformist heritage has been the s... more The relation between differents forms of teaching labor and the reformist heritage has been the site of a tension, in some historical periods. In the Manifiesto, but also in other writings, the reformists attacked servile knowledge, the University heteronomy against the academies and other corporations. A hasty interpretation of this dispute claims that the Reform proposed periodic oppositions as the main form of teachers recruitment, besides considering the proclaimed autonomy as the mere individual right for investigating or teaching whatever one wants, without control from or discussion with the university institution. We show that both ideas are wrong, that they are not based on historical facts nor are they supported by a scientific or political rationality. El presente artículo forma parte de una serie de trabajos prospectivos encaminados a la elaboraci... more El presente artículo forma parte de una serie de trabajos prospectivos encaminados a la elaboración de una descripción comparada español-francés de los grupos N 1 Prep N2, con vistas a aplicaciones en el campo de la lingtiística informática'. Entre dichos grupos. los casos de forma N1 de N2 plantean, por su complejidad, problemas de descripción particularmente arduos, especialmente desde una perspectiva de procesamiento automático. In many practical applications, it is more convenient to characterize the quality of production p... more In many practical applications, it is more convenient to characterize the quality of production processes or service operations throughout the count of nonconformities. In the context of SPC, nonconformities are usually assumed to appear according to the binomial probability model. The conventional way for monitoring nonconformities involves Shewhart-type control procedures based on both constant and time-varying sample sizes. In this article, an EWMA scheme is proposed for monitoring the fraction of nonconforming items with time-varying sample sizes. The proposed control chart is referred to as the EWMAG-B and can be easily adapted to work with a constant sample size by fixing it at a needed value. By means of simulation, it was found out that the EWMAG-B chart outperforms the conventional p control chart in Phase II while detecting changes in the process level is wanted.

It is based on widely developed programmes in Andalucia, which allows a reflection on the power communication has, either in terms of information or formation, to reinforce the healthy coexistence of a diversity of young people in a society of adult power. Este texto, sobre el sentido de la comunicación como estrategia en los programas de salud pública, orientada hacia la convivencia con y entre los jóvenes, surge del desarrollo de programas ya consolidados en la realidad de Andalucía, con una trayectoria suficiente para sustentar una reflexión sobre la dimensión que tiene la comunicación, en términos unas veces de información y otras de formación, para potenciar la convivencia saludable de los jóvenes en una sociedad de poder adulto.

168 The X-ray cross-complementing group 1 (XRCC1) protein plays an important role in excision and... more 168 The X-ray cross-complementing group 1 (XRCC1) protein plays an important role in excision and ligation of oxidized DNA bases and strand breaks, in cooperation with other enzymes in the base excision repair (BER) pathway, while XPD helicases unwind DNA prior to repair. Polymorphisms of these DNA repair genes are associated with decreased DNA repair rates and increased genotoxic damage, measured by single-strand breaks and chromosomal aberrations. Compromised repair activity may lead to accumulation of DNA damage and predispose to secondary cancers and increased treatment-related toxicity to normal tissues. It may, however, also result in decreased repair of DNA damage in malignant cells exposed to chemotherapy, facilitating their apoptosis, and therefore decreasing resistance to chemotherapy and improving treatment outcome. This article explores the notions of organization and information in Gilbert Simondon's theory of... more This article explores the notions of organization and information in Gilbert Simondon's theory of individuation. It confronts these notions with ideas from cybernetics and especially Alan Turing's work. The 'universal machine' opens new ways of understanding the relations between humans and machines, and highlights an impasse in Simondon's theory. These concepts act as precursors to post-structuralist philosophy and Gilles Deleuze's oeuvre.

This paper compares the maximum rectifier RF-dc conversion efficiency for various input signals w... more This paper compares the maximum rectifier RF-dc conversion efficiency for various input signals with random modulation. The instantaneous power variance (IPV) is proposed as an easy to compute parameter to classify the effect of modulation on the obtained rectifier efficiency. A prototype UHF rectifier is used to simulate as well as measure the performance of randomly modulated signals with BPSK, QPSK, 8PSK and 64QAM modulation. In addition to considering different modulation formats, the roll-off factor of the baseband filter is also varied due to the fact that it has a strong impact on the timevarying nature of the signal envelope. For the given rectifier, it is shown that the peak RF-dc conversion efficiency versus the output load is shifter to larger load values for signals with higher IPV. Furthermore, by comparing signals with different time-varying envelope characteristics it is shown that IPV represents a more accurate signal characteristic than peak-to-average-power-ration (PAPR) in terms of properly characterising the effect of modulation on the rectifier efficiency.

The RF-DC conversion efficiency of an RF harvesting circuit when it is excited by digitally modul... more The RF-DC conversion efficiency of an RF harvesting circuit when it is excited by digitally modulated signals is investigated. A variety of signals with the same average power but different complementary cumulative distribution function (CCDF) and peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR) properties are applied at the input of a prototype UHF diode rectifier. The rectifier is optimized for maximum efficiency under low average input power levels and the RF-DC conversion efficiency for different output load conditions is evaluated. It is shown that depending on the CCDF and PAPR properties of the applied signal a different optimum load exists which leads to a maximum efficiency.

To evaluate virulence factors involved in the adhesion process, such as cell surface hydrophobici... more To evaluate virulence factors involved in the adhesion process, such as cell surface hydrophobicity (CSH), adherence to plastic capacity, adherence capacity to buccal epithelial cells (BEC), and biofilm formation, in 17 strains of C. albicans isolated from bronchial aspirates of critically ill patients. The CSH of the strains of C. albicans was determined using the MATH method, a microbial adhesion to hydrocarbons test. The study of adherence to plastic was performed in microtitre plates in accordance with Christensen's technique. Biofilm formation was studied in polystyrene microtitre plates, according to the method of Ramage. Adherence to BEC was evaluated by quantifying the percentage of adhered yeasts to cells. All the strains studied showed factors directly involved in adhesion, with variability in the degree of expression among them. Medium-high levels of CSH were found in 52.9% of the strains. The analysis automatically calculates concise invariants for loops, with a level of precision depending on the manipulations applied on each program variable. We report experimental results obtained from running a prototype that implements our analysis on a variety of examples.
