Methods: An extensive systematic electronic review (Google Scholar, EBSO, JSTOR, ProQuest Science, Science Direct and Research Gate, NCBI, PsycINFO) using key words ‘Mindfulness’, ‘Hinduism’ ‘Buddhism’ and ‘Well-being’. Results: 150 published studies from 1984 to 2014 were obtained out of which 20 are reviewed. Conclusion: Mindfulness has been recommended in several scripture and religious texts as a key aspect for well-being of self. This conclusion can be validated using the various programs studied in current research that provide empirical evidence to support the statements found in the early literature. There is a need to develop a standardized training procedure for mindfulness and test it across various age groups.

With over 50% of the World population speaking 2 or more languages, bilingual stuttering and multilingual stuttering poses challenges to the traditional frameworks used to understand and conceptualize stuttering. This, in turn, impacts research, measurement, and treatment of stuttering (2). The misdiagnosis of stuttering due to bilingualistic or multilingualistic challenges shatters the client’s self-esteem and the clinician’s confidence with the patient. It also invites wrong and ineffective treatment. Since stuttering is not covered fully or in part by insurance, the medical expenses increase manifold without any productive results. This article discusses the challenges faced by clinicians in treating stuttering in a bilingual and multilingual context and explores ways to resolve them.

Studying PWB among school teachers can help identify factors that can prevent burnout, cope with stress, and effectively manage their classroom. This study analyses the relationship between PWB, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence of school teachers and examines the predictive capability of mindfulness and emotional intelligence for PWBs. This study uses a correlational research design. Participants (N=125) consist of female teachers recruited from English medium private schools in Bangalore, India, through a convenience sampling method. Data were collected using a survey consisting of a demographic information sheet, Scales of Psychological Well-Being (Ryff, 1989), Five Facets of Mindfulness Questionnaire (Baer et al., 2006), and Assessing Emotions Scale (Schutte et al., 2009). In recent years, it has improved the quality of life in areas such as communication, education, recreation. On the contrary, there are growing concerns about the use of the Internet that have created adverse consequences in the areas of social life, interpersonal relationships, family environment, and school activities. School-going children were vulnerable to such unhealthy outcomes due to readily available high-speed Internet and ease of access to different Internet platforms, which resulted in risky behaviours, decreased academic performance, poor nutrition, decreased sleep quality, and a high incidence of inter-social conflicts. While the majority of the research has focused on the adolescent population in terms of problematic Internet use, only a few studies have identified the vulnerabilities of school-going children in the same context. The research also confirmed that the risk factors for problematic Internet use start as early as middle childhood. Heightened risky use of the Internet was observed in children with neurodevelopmental concerns. This study explores risk factors associated with problematic Internet use among school-going children, identifying relevant warning signs followed with preventative measures.

With the advent of COVID-19 pandemic, major overhauls were made in day-to-day life including work, home, and education. Shift to online mode of instruction became the primary, if not the only, channel of education. This drastic shift has led to issues like limited social interaction, learning gaps due to insufficient in-person interaction, excessive screen time on devices, and decreased physical activity, which can impact mental health of children. This chapter will explore the impact of online learning on the mental health of children from both mental ill-health and well-being perspectives, the role of parents, teachers, and educational systems, and challenges and opportunities presented by the situation. Further to this, the ways to safeguard and improve mental health of children in the milieu of online education will be discussed.

The main aim of this review was to study the efficacy of this intervention on a vulnerable population like prisoners. Papers for this review were selected from established databases like PubMed, ProQuest, and ScienceDirect among many. The use of neurofeedback in the forensic psychiatric setting did not show a healthy level of applicability as expected. The main reasons for this were the variations in the sample characteristics between the studies, along with the motivation of the prisoners as well. The prison setting also delayed and interfered with the training and could also be alluded to its apparent difficulty in the application of this treatment. There are a small number of studies with even smaller samples in a population that is difficult to engage. These conditions have led to inconclusive results in most...

Adolescents are particularly vulnerable to the problems associated with academic stress as transitions occur at an individual and social level. It therefore, becomes imperative to understand the sources and impact of academic stress in order to derive adequate and efficient intervention strategies. The study employed a quantitative research design where participants were screened using Academic Stress Scale (Rajendran& Kaliappan,1991 from four streams namely, commerce, management, humanities, and basic sciences. The five dimensions of sources such as personal inadequacy, fear of failure, interpersonal difficulties with teachers, teacher pupil relationship and inadequate study facilities were further analysed and gender differences were also obtained.
