- Linguistic Sedimentation, and Bodily Inscription At present, we are exposed to an excessive off... more - Linguistic Sedimentation, and Bodily Inscription At present, we are exposed to an excessive offer of images, which raises a problem of assimilation. Subjects are increasingly passive, in ways that can border on pathological conditions. Yet, it is not so much a question of condemning this situation as of finding a way of re-symbolizing images, saving them from mere contemplation and inserting them in a process of contextualisation. Such a process requires an understanding of the role of the body and of the incorporation of images along the lines of Bachelard's intuition of the "resisting" nature of images. En mettant l'accent sur les representations de ces espaces recalcitrants, le dossier a choisi de questionner les facons d'imaginer et de figurer ces espaces, et interroge ainsi les multiples valeurs qui leur sont attribuees. Des pratiques artistiques aux discours mediatiques, il rassemble des textes qui contribuent au champ emergent des underground studies et de l'urbanisme volumetrique, ensemble de travaux interdisciplinaires attentifs aux imaginaires artistiques, sociaux et politiques qui nourrissent notre (me)connaissance des mondes enfouis. Les corpus analyses couvrent une large gamme d'ecritures geographiques : documents cartographiques, litterature de fiction et discours en regime de controverse, qui constituent autant de modes de representations a partir desquels penser la diversite et la plasticite des modes d'existence des territoires sou...
This work pays attention to the debt of abstract rationality to the iconic and symbolic. From a c... more This work pays attention to the debt of abstract rationality to the iconic and symbolic. From a critical perspective towards a philosophy based in the clear and the distinct, this paper tries to connect image and concept. The first section studies the imagery in the formation of philosophical ideas, having in mind thinkers such as Plato, Plotinus and Kant. The second section, titled «The Imaginal Schematism in Thought», adopts a genetic or poietic perspective of the image; which is considered in itself a source of thought. The author proposes an archeology of thought, in which it is not sufficient an analysis based on logical concepts and language. For that reason it will be necessary to turn to a topology, where space will be understood as the form of thought. The rise and unfold of the image, considered as a form of space, will be determinants in the beginning and development of thought. The success of technical and communicational system of television, for more than fifty years, is ... more The success of technical and communicational system of television, for more than fifty years, is probably due to the fact that it succeeded in replacing the religious. We will show that it renews liturgies, rites of possession, shamanism, and even black magic. These analogies are able to make us understand human comportment facing television, so often banalized.
