The structures proposed base on a new distributed phenomenon consisting in the nonreciprocal response to the even or odd mode excitation of the identical coupled ferrite lines with vertical magnetization (CFLT). The scattering matrix of a section of CFLT is derived and used to model the transmission characteristics of possible 4 and 3 port circulators and an isolator. Since the new effect occurs even for weakly magnetized ferrites the novel structures are particularly suitable for millimetre wave applications.

Approximate continuity conditions modeling a thin R plate are introduced to simplify the analysis. The problem is solved by the mode-matching procedure. A notable field displacement phenomenon appearing in the guide owing the pseudochirality properties is studied. Other feature such as a weak perturbation of the dispersion characteristics of the isotropic guide by pseudochirality introduced into the medium is also discussed.

From waveguide measurements carried out over a few placements of the slab in the guide the constitutive parameters are extracted. The extraction is performed numerically by a algorithm minimizing the difference between theoretical and measured values of resonance frequency and scattering parameters. The field displacement phenomenon becomes visible by the frequency responses of the scattering parameters and E-field patterns. The measured and theoretical results show the resonance effects which may be applicable in design of bandstop filters

Experimental results at 1.3 GHz agree well with ones predicted theoretically confirming the developed design procedure.

Polarization parameters of the scattered plane wave are derived in the near and the far fields.

In the analysis of proposed structure the coupled mode and mode matching methods are applied. Using proposed approach the ferrite coupled line junction is designed. For this junction the transmission parameters are calculated. The numerical results are verified via experiment.

Presented approach is based on the Iterative Scattering Procedure (ISP) and the orthogonal expansion method. Several numerical examples for open and closed problems were presented.

The exact full-wave theory based on the mode-matching method is applied to analyze the structures. The resonance frequencies of the investigated resonators are accurately determined. Validity and accuracy of the approach is verified by comparing the results with alternative numerical methods and the author's experiment.

Two examples of microwave devices, fed by a coplanar waveguide and realized on a thin substrate (... more Two examples of microwave devices, fed by a coplanar waveguide and realized on a thin substrate (or without such a substrate), are employed to investigate the influence of devices’ curvatures and the proximity of different materials on their parameters. To perform the tests, a broadband antenna and a low-pass filter are chosen. A feeding coplanar waveguide is realized on a dielectric material brick attached to an SMA connector and the main device structure is placed in the air or on a thin substrate. The utilization of a thin substrate or its removal from the structure gives rise to the possibility of placing the devices on curved surfaces. The investigated devices are redesigned and manufactured. The antenna has a total size of 46 mm × 44 mm and covers a frequency range of 2.4–35 GHz which gives a 174% fractional bandwidth. The filter has a total size of 50 mm × 80 mm and its bandwidth has a cutoff frequency of 3.4 GHz. The obtained results are verified by measurements and good agr...

Improvements over the earlier models include realisation of the microstrip circuit on the dielectric substrate and placing a ferrite overlay on top of the coupled line of the FCL section. Simulation and measurements show the operation bandwidth from 10 to 15 GHz with isolation and reflection losses better than 10 dB and average insertion losses <2.5 dB.

The observed flicker phase noise was independent of input power, even at levels producing 4 dB of gain compression, and also changed very little with bias conditions. The intrinsic phase noise at low temperatures (observed below 2.17 K, where an extrinsic effect due to the bubbling of the liquid helium coolant disappears) was slightly higher than that observed at room temperature, However, we saw no sign of the dramatic increase in flicker phase noise at low Manuscript
