The special package PraCAn has been used for this purpose. This contribution introduces possibilities of the package for circuit linearization and following ac symbolic or semisymbolic analyses. Simplification of the active part models is done by their instance parameters to obtain useful results for dominant circuit behavior. This is demonstrated on elementary examples of electronic circuit analysis. The package was developed at the Department of Circuit Theory, CTU for research and teaching support.

Applied method of analysis is based on modeling of periodically switched networks by mixed s, z description. The method is implemented in program Maple TM in the form of Maple package named PraSCAn. Current version of the package provides all basic analysis of linear continuoustime circuits as well as of multiphase PSL circuits. The paper presents time domain analysis of idealized switched circuits in more detail. Described algorithm uses closed-form solution in time domain for continuous time which is implemented in the package. A system of www interface based on PraSCAn package for electronic circuit analysis via internet is presented in the next part of the article. Some results are shown in the end of the paper.

Symbolic description of the pump stage model as an analog functional block for high-voltage application is firstly discussed. Design process has been done by using simplified BSIM model equations assuming the long channel MOSFET. Characteristics have been verified by ELDO Spice and compared with the found relationships. Static and dynamic parameters of the subcircuit have been tested in two-stages structure by LT Spice simulator. Analysis results show the consistency between model and real circuits characteristics under given conditions. Complex model provides the reliable results for significantly smaller strange capacitances in comparision with the main pump capacitances. The model can be used for design and prediction of the pump parameters without long-time simulation process. The strong inversion region of MOSFET is expected, thus equations are correct for other MOSFET models that are used in chip design (PSP).

The Pascal matrix defined in [1], [2] has provided its utility in this field. In this paper we summarize the direct transformation from low-pass continuous-time transfer function H(s) to discrete-time H(z) of the bandpass and bandstop transfer functions. This algorithm uses the Pascal matrix and is constructed from the rows of a Pascal triangle. The advantage of this method is that the inverse transformation is obtained with the Pascal matrix without computing the determinant of the system, which simplifies the process to obtain the associated analog transfer function H(s) if the discrete transfer function H(z) is known. Numerical example for matrices P, P1, Q and Q1 illustrate the practical utilization of this technique.

This method is based on the synchronized discrete exciting of the string and measuring the string oscillations. The main requirement was self-acting function of the whole system without an external exciting and controlling. The method has been verified on a functional sample.

The circuit realizes a band-pass filter. The elimination is carried out by optimization based on one of evolutionary algorithms - the differential evolution. The nonidealities are nonzero on-state resistance of the switches and nonzero output conductance of the field-effect transistors implementing the current sources. It is shown that the filter with the current source transconductance values designed according to a common method for ideal components has a significantly different magnitude frequency response when the nonidealities are considered. Hence, the optimization is applied to finding suitable transconductance values so that the difference between the magnitude frequency responses of the ideal and nonideal filter is minimized.

The optimization of this kind of circuits is not so common and their analysis is more difficult in comparison with continuously working circuits. Firstly, the nonidealities occurring in these circuits whose effect on their characteristics should be optimized are discussed. Then a few ways to analyze analogue switched circuits are shown. From all optimization algorithms applicable for this kind of optimization, two ones that seem to be the most promising are proposed. The differential evolution (one of evolutionary algorithms) combined with the simplex method was found to be most appropriate from these two ones. Two types of programs are required for the optimization of these circuits: a program for implementing calculations of the used optimization algorithm and a program for the analysis of the optimized circuit. Several suitable computer programs from both of the groups together with their proper settings according to authors' experience are proposed. At the end of the paper, an example of a switched-current circuit optimization documenting the previous description is presented.

The design procedure is presented and key recommendations for the implementation are given. The implementation procedure describes the design of two-channel filter bank using an IIR Cauer filter, conversion of IIR into the SC filters and the final implementation of the SC filters. The whole design and an SC circuit implementation is performed by a PraCAn package in Maple. To verify the whole filter bank, resulting real property circuit structures are completely simulated by WinSpice and ELDO simulators. The results confirm that perfect reconstruction conditions can be almost accepted for the filter bank implemented by the SC circuits. The phase response of the SC filter bank is not strictly linear due to the IIR filters. However, the final ripple of a magnitude frequency response in the passband is almost constant, app. 0.5 dB for a real circuit analysis.

The method proposed in this paper allows not only the analysis of the digital filters, but also the construction of new structures of the canonic or noncanonic digital filter. Equivalent filters of different structures can be found according to various matrix expansions. The structures can be calculated even from transfer function or from state-space matrices and with the additional advantage of requiring minimum number of shifting elements. Traditional research methods are not able to construct the system with a minimum of the shifting operations.

The analysis of steps needed for this realization is performed. The correct solution requires the IIR filter bank synthesis followed by the conversion to SC circuits. Due to simplicity only the two-channel filter bank is used. The main points of the whole design procedure and key recommendations for the realization are given. The complete design of SC circuits was performed by PraCAn package in Maple program and resulted circuit structures were simulated in WinSpice. The obtained results are in agreement with theoretical derivations.

Here, the term "virtual" implies to the fact that the ADC testing is done yet in the circuit design on a base of an ADC model capable to capture the ADC error sources occurring in the integrated circuit structure. The first part of the contribution concerns significant properties of two proposed VTE algorithm implementations, the first one employing Verilog-A behavioral module and the second which is created in Maple environment with built-in libraries for circuit analysis. The performance of both VTE implementations is evaluated at system-level and by simulation of residual non-linearity with an ideal ADC model. Throughout the article, a stress is given to the building procedure which was necessary to create VTE capable to work both on Verilog-A and Maple platform.

Discrete-time analog circuits are usually designed by the numerical algorithms in the professional simulator software which can be an extremely timeconsuming process in contrast to described analytical procedure. The significant part of the pumping losses is caused by the reverse current through the switch transistors due to the continuous-time voltage change on the main capacitors. The design process is based on the analytical expression of the time response characteristics of the pump stage as an analog system with using BSIM model equations. The main benefit of the article is the analytical transistors sizing formula so that the maximum voltage gain is achieved. The diode transistor is dimensioned for the pump requirements, as the maximal pump output ripple voltage, current, etc. The characteristics of the proposed circuit have been verified by simulation in ELDO Spice. Results are valid for N-stage charge pump and also applicable for other model equations as PSP, EKV.
