In German it is called Bäderarchitektur, or resort architecture. Its intensive development took place in the years 1793-1918, only a few examples come from the interwar period. The studied examples of buildings in seaside and spa towns of the southwest Baltic coast show a variety of building types and a multitude of inspirations.

In addition to their functional and structural value, they are important elements of the cultural landscape. At the turn of the 21st century, concern for nature, resulting from the threat of environmental degradation, contributed to a growing interest in wooden constructions. For these reasons, we have observed the erection of buildings with wooden frame structures in many countries around the world. This trend contributed to the rapid development of wooden structures, new technologies, and innovative architectural solutions. The conducted research mainly focused on the joints used in their construction, as well as their perception. From among many examples, some original and innovative solutions were selected and analyzed. Their creators are famous architects: Renzo Piano, Imre Makovecz, Jürgen Meyer, Kengo Kuma, and Shigeru Ban. The objects presented in this article are distinguished by the originality of their form and by the fact that they are clearly inspired by vernacular architecture. Crucial elements of these objects, such as wooden, steel, and hybrid connections, are analyzed in this article. Because they are intentionally exposed, they play an important aesthetic role in addition to a structural one.

Contracted marriages clinched the alliances and agreements between states. Family connections, study, residence at regional courts, travelling of Pomeranian dukes, significantly influenced architecture and art of Western Pomerania since time of Bogislaw X.

The popularity of the iconographic motif depicting Fames blowing on trumpets grew significantly during the Baroque period. It was because of its visual attractiveness and explicitness. This motive was a clear sign of the founder's prestige. The sources of the formal similarities between the presented examples are discussed in this article.

In the case of detached houses often with farming buildings they work, while in the area of rural complexes there are some difficulty with these matters. To be general and brief such endeavour seems to call for agreement of local community when it comes to keeping the idea in order to protect the design and architectural tradition.

As a result, the Pomeranian dukes from House of Griffin gained huge financial resources. For this reason, they were funders and patrons of art more often than their predecessors. The princely foundations became a model for the Pomeranian nobility.
