There are many ways to think about religion and popular culture. One method is to ask where and w... more There are many ways to think about religion and popular culture. One method is to ask where and when we see what might be commonly understood as "religious tradition(s)" explicitly on display. Another is to think about superhero narratives themselves as "religious" , using this term as a conceptual tool for categorizing and thereby better understanding particular dimensions of human experience. This article takes a variety of approaches to understanding religion in relation to the recent television series LUKE CAGE (Netflix, US 2016). These approaches take their hermeneuti-cal cues from a range of disciplines, including studies of the Bible; Hip Hop; gender; Black Theology; African American religion; and philosophy. The results of this analysis highlight the polysemic nature of popular culture in general, and of superhero stories in particular. Like religious traditions themselves, the show is complex and contradictory: it is both progressive and reactionary; emphasizes community and valorizes an individual; critiques and endorses Christianity; subverts and promotes violence. Depending on the questions asked, LUKE CAGE (2016) provides a range of very different answers. http://www.jrfm.eu/index.php/ojs_jrfm/article/view/79

Peran guru dalam pendidikan tidak hanya merancang kegiatan pembelajaran, guru juga memiliki peran... more Peran guru dalam pendidikan tidak hanya merancang kegiatan pembelajaran, guru juga memiliki peran sebagai pembimbing, motivator, fasilitator, dan evaluator. Peran guru diharapkan tidak hanya dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas tetapi juga diperlukan dalam membentuk karakter siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran guru Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana peran guru Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan dalam membentuk karakter religius siswa di MTs Muhammadiyah Waru Baki. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologi. Dalam hal ini subjek penelitian adalah guru Al-Islam dan KeMuhammadiyahan. Peneliti menggunakan pengumpulan data dengan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deduktif, dengan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan di MTs Muhammadiyah Waru Baki meliputi guru sebagai motivator, informator, mediator, demonstrator dan evaluator. Peran guru Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan dalam membentuk karakter religius siswa sebagai motivator, memotivasi siswa melalui teman yang berprestasi, menyemangati siswa untuk beribadah. Sebagai informator guru memberikan penjelasan lebih rinci dan memberi informasi terbaru. Sebagai mediator guru menyediakan media pembelajaran.Sebagai demonstrator guru memberikan contoh yang baik melalui sholat dhuhur berjamaah. Sebagai evaluator guru menilai perilaku siswa, menegur bila siswa melanggar peraturan.

We establish some supercongruences related to a supercongruence of Van Hamme, such as (p+1)/2 k=0... more We establish some supercongruences related to a supercongruence of Van Hamme, such as (p+1)/2 k=0 (−1) k (4k − 1) (− 1 2) 3 k k! 3 ≡ p(−1) (p+1)/2 + p 3 (2 − E p−3) (mod p 4), (p+1)/2 k=0 (4k − 1) 5 (− 1 2) 4 k k! 4 ≡ 16p (mod p 4), where p is an odd prime and E p−3 is the (p − 3)-th Euler number. Our proof uses some congruences of Z.-W. Sun, the Wilf-Zeilberger method, Whipple's 7 F 6 transformation, and the software package Sigma developed by Schneider. We also put forward two related conjectures.
