Un systeme modem de donnees comprend des filtres numeriques (11, 21, 59, 60) dans des unites de t... more Un systeme modem de donnees comprend des filtres numeriques (11, 21, 59, 60) dans des unites de transmission et de reception ayant des etapes de frequence intermediaire qui fonctionnent a une frequence egale a un multiple entier de la vitesse du symbole de modulation. Cela permet d'effectuer le filtrage, la modulation et la demodulation de facon relativement aisee avec du materiel numerique, et d'effectuer des conversions entre differentes formes de modulation telles que QPSK, BPSK et BPSK offset sans apporter des modifications sensibles au materiel. Dans un mode de realisation de l'invention, le recepteur utilise un circuit d'evaluation de phase (124) qui compense des erreurs de phase et de preference qui apparaissent lorsqu'un oscillateur local autonome est utilise a la place d'un oscillateur commande par une boucle d'asservissement de phase.

The recent emphasis on Information Technology has increased the need for methods of data communications with a greater interest in the areas of Satellite communications. Data communications over a satellite can be easily achieved by the use of excessive power and bandwidth but efficient management of the satellite resource requires more elegant means of transmission. The optimum modulator and demodulator can be described by mathematical expressions to represent the phys ical processes that are required to transmit and receive a signal. Digital Signal Processing circuits can be use to implement these mathematical functions and once correctly designed are not susceptible to variations in accuracy and hence can maintain an accurate representation of the mathematical model.
