The goal of this work was to analyze the effect of CNCs on the gelatinization of different starch... more The goal of this work was to analyze the effect of CNCs on the gelatinization of different starches (potato, wheat and waxy maize) through the characterization of the rheological and thermal properties of starch–CNC blends. CNCs were blended with different starches, adding CNCs at concentrations of 0, 2, 6 and 10% w/w. Starch–CNC blends were processed by rapid visco-analysis (RVA) and cooled to 70 °C. Pasting parameters such as pasting temperature, peak, hold and breakdown viscosity were assessed. After RVA testing, starch–CNC blends were immediately analyzed by rotational and dynamic rheology at 70 °C. Gelatinization temperature and enthalpy were assessed by differential scanning calorimetry. Our results suggest that CNCs modify the starch gelatinization but that this behavior depends on the starch origin. Esto hace muy dificil a los responsables de TI de las universidades desarrollar e implementar planes de inversion en TI. Los modelos de Gobierno TI ayudan a informar las decisiones, y garantizar que las opciones de diseno sean consistentes con la estrategia de la empresa. Existen modelos en los cuales se han basado para implementar el gobierno de las TI para las Instituciones de Educacion Superior (IES) como: COBIT (Objetivos de Control para la Informacion y Tecnologias Relacionadas), JISC (Comite de Sistemas de Informacion Conjunta) en el Reino Unido, MGTIU (Modelo de Gobierno de las TI para Universidades) en Espana, y la norma ISO 38500:2008. Newman es cada vez más conocido y estudiado en la teología y en el pensamiento cristianos, y muchas de sus ideas son objeto de una silenciosa recepción en ámbitos de la cultura. Puede afirmarse, a pesar de todo, que las obras del gran converso inglés son todavía poco leídas entre nosotros.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the crosslinking abilities of divinyl sulfone (DVS) for the... more The aim of this study was to evaluate the crosslinking abilities of divinyl sulfone (DVS) for the preparation of novel water-insoluble cyclodextrin-based polymers (CDPs) capable of forming inclusion complexes with different guest molecules. Reaction of DVS with native α-cyclodextrin (α-CD), β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) and/or starch generates a variety of homo-and hetero-CDPs with different degrees of crosslinking as a function of the reactants' stoichiometric ratio. The novel materials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy and for their sorption of phenol and 4-nitrophenol. They were further evaluated as sorbents with phenolic pollutants (bisphenol A and β-naphthol) and bioactive compounds (the hormone progesterone and curcumin). Data obtained from the inclusion experiments show that the degree of cross-linking has a minor influence on the yield of inclusion complex formation and highlight the important role of the CDs, supporting a sorption process based on the formation of inclusion complexes. In general, the inclusion processes are better described by a Freundlich isotherm although an important number of them can also be fitted to the Langmuir isotherm with R 2 ≥ 0.9, suggesting a sorption onto a monolayer of homogeneous sites.
