This study looked at the relationship between one’s parents and grandparents and his or her moral identity. Emotional closeness is one of the interpersonal dimensions that is widely used to describe the quality of the relationship between grandchildren and grandparents (Creasey & Koblewski, 1991). Parental support, the level of acceptance or warmth that parents express toward their children ((Bean, Barber, & Crane, 2006) and psychological control, attempts that intrude into the psychological and emotional development of the child (Barber, 1996) are generally used to explain parental behavior in child development context. Participants were 318 university students in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, and Bandung.
