Linkages between political parties and society have been considered weak from the very beginning ... more Linkages between political parties and society have been considered weak from the very beginning of the political transformation in Central and Eastern Europe, including in Poland. One result has been the employment of clientelistic strategies by political parties across the region. Clientelism in Polish politics has been present for three decades, however, the way it manifests itself today varies significantly from how it appeared in the past in terms of its scale but also because it has “thickened” by incorporating Catholic, national, and patriotic symbols. Furthermore, the number of contracting parties is not limited to the patron (PiS) and their clients (voters); a crucial role seems to be played by the organisations supported financially by the PiS government whose task may be to entice citizens to vote for the party. Background: The article presents the psychometric parameters and implementation of the adult educ... more Background: The article presents the psychometric parameters and implementation of the adult education needs inventory (AENI) questionnaire, which is designed to measure the key competences of adult educators. It was constructed on the concept of key competences as proposed by the Council of the European Union. This model of competences is inscribed in the concept of lifelong learning and does not concentrate on the compensatory functions of the competences but merely promotes the insight of educators into their self-development. This article presents the construction process and psychometrical properties of AENI.

Presidential elections in Poland have always drawn more voters to the ballot box than parliamenta... more Presidential elections in Poland have always drawn more voters to the ballot box than parliamentary ones. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the turnout in the 2020 presidential elections was the second-highest since 1989. The glib answer might be that voters were simply availing themselves of the opportunity to leave the house, however briefly, since COVID-19 measures had largely confined people to their homes for most of the year. More likely, albeit paradoxically, heightened voter interest was triggered by political autocratisation, the other plague that Poles have been struggling with, in this case since 2015. The election was won by the incumbent, Andrzej Duda, whose advantage was credited to his appeal among less-educated and older people living in rural areas. Thesis. The article presents the construction process and psychometric properties of the Critical... more Thesis. The article presents the construction process and psychometric properties of the Critical Thinking Questionnaire (CThQ). The questionnaire is a critical thinking test tool designed for adolescents and adults. The basis for creating the questionnaire was classifying the educational goals proposed by Benjamin Bloom and spread by critical thinking practitioners. Methods. The independent rater system was used in the construction of the test, while the psychometric properties of the test were tested on a sample of 198 people, calculating the inter-correlation and the Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient. Result. Both assessments of the independent rater system and research checking the psychometric properties of the test indicate high reliability of the tool. Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of internal consistency was 0.87. In its final version, the test consists of 25 items, the results of which allow assessing critical thinking in 6 scales: remembering, understanding, applying...

Prezentowany raport, zawiera informacje o potrzebach edukacyjnych oraz ilościową ewaluację instyt... more Prezentowany raport, zawiera informacje o potrzebach edukacyjnych oraz ilościową ewaluację instytucji zatrudniających edukatorów osób dorosłych oraz pracowników NGO w krajach partnerów projektu (Polska, Francja, Włochy, Portugalia), w innych krajach europejskich i niektórych krajach pozaeuropejskich.W badaniu wzięło udział 1176 ankietowanych. Istotny jest fakt, że badanie było przeprowadzone w różnych krajach – nie tylko w krajach partnerów realizujących projekt. Stanowi to gwarancję, że uzyskane wyniki, odzwierciedlają sytuację europejskiego sektora edukacji dorosłych.

Ce rapport contient des informations sur les besoins en matière d’éducation et l’évaluation quant... more Ce rapport contient des informations sur les besoins en matière d’éducation et l’évaluation quantitative des organisations d’éducateurs d’adultes et des travailleurs des ONG dans les pays du consortium (Pologne, France, Italie et Portugal), dans d’autres pays de l’UE et certains pays tiers. L’enquête a réuni 1176 participants. Outre le nombre représentatif de répondants, il est important de souligner que la recherche a été menée dans différents pays, et non pas uniquement dans les pays du consortium, garantissant que les résultats obtenus sont révélateurs des besoins du secteur de l’éducation des adultes en Europe.

Destaca-se o facto da pesquisa tersido realizada em diferentes países, não apenas nos países do consórcio, o que garante que os resultados obtidos são sintomáticos para o setor europeu de EA.

Il rapporto presentato contiene informazioni sui bisogni educativi e sulla valutazione quantitati... more Il rapporto presentato contiene informazioni sui bisogni educativi e sulla valutazione quantitativa delle organizzazioni di educatori per adulti e lavoratori delle ONG nei paesi del consorzio (Polonia, Francia, Italia e Portogallo) e in altri paesi dell’UE e alcuni non UE. La ricerca ha visto la partecipazione di 1176 partecipanti. Ciò che è importante, è il fatto che la ricerca sia stata condotta in diversi paesi, non solo nei paesi del consorzio, elemento che garantisce che i risultati ottenuti siano sintomatici per il settore AE europeo.

Examining the effects of acute stress across multiple modalities (behavioral, physiological, and ... more Examining the effects of acute stress across multiple modalities (behavioral, physiological, and endocrinological) can increase our understanding of the interplay among stress systems, and may improve the efficacy of stress detection. A multimodal approach also allows for verification of the biological stress response, which can vary between individuals due to myriad internal and external factors, thus allowing for reliable interpretation of behavioral markers of stress. Here, controlling for variables known to affect the magnitude of the stress response, we utilized the Trier Social Stress Test (TSST) to elicit an acute stress response in 80 healthy adult men and women. The TSST involves an interview-style oral presentation and critical social evaluation, and is highly effective in inducing psychosocial stress. Report contains cross-country and cross-gender comparative analysis in Poland and other chosen co... more Report contains cross-country and cross-gender comparative analysis in Poland and other chosen countries in regard to specific moral issues. Statistical analysis revealed significant statistical differences on all analysed levels. Short description, explanation and intepretation, supported by vizual presentation of scores has been proposed. Lastly R script code has been provided for replication purposes.
