Prevalence of MSDs among dental practitioners in India is not well documented. Aim of this study is to determine the prevalence and distribution of MSDs among dental practitioners in Pune city in the state of Maharashtra, India. A cross sectional descriptive study in which a self-administered questionnaire (Body part discomfort survey) was used to assess the musculoskeletal symptoms among dental practitioners. In this study (n=57) in total, 47% of the respondents were males and 52% were females. The recorded data was analyzed. This questionnaire results (for all body parts), showed neck trouble to be the most predominant MSDs (69%), followed by shoulder (51%), upper back (51%), and lower back problem (39%).This results suggest that there is a need for change of body posture. This mean can be achieved by using a proper body support or change in work area. A prototype design is suggested to overcome this problem. The deployment of the prototype has reduced the RULA scoring and proved by t-test calculation. Results were verified by using the p-chart. The fraction of defects for all 12 areas and each respondent were calculated for further study.

Cricket frogs, for example, live only a couple of years, but bullfrogs may live a decade. Prediction of residual life of a mammal is a challenging task. Presented in this paper is an analysis for predicting the life of animals. This would be useful to different professions in the medical industry. This work examines the pattern of Life prediction of mammals with the key determining factors such as Weight, Food intake, Water intake and Physical rest. Using the factors mentioned, Proposed herewith is a fundamental equation to predict life of animals. The use of this equation could be used for predicting description of health characteristics of all biological life which can be used by insurance companies and life estimation agencies. Futuristic proposed research into Human life risk analyst studies for finding extensions to use this equation for calculating residual human life is al...

Materials and Methods: Endodontic obturator tips are used by dental surgeons extensively as heated cutter tips for treating root canal and other obturation procedures. Biocompatible cutter design involves challenges of both structural and thermal loads in the vicinity of the root canal area. natural gutta percha is very similar to natural rubber, which is mainly used as filler material to seal off the prepared root canal cavity against bacterial infections. The cutter is being used to heat, soften, condense and cut off the excess GP from the apical region of tooth crown with ease. The GP cutter tip geometry is selected initially based on ideal root canal geometry available. Results: In the present paper thermal model for the heat conduction behavior in GP is formed. Analytic approach is discussed for deflection of tapered Endodontic Tip and C-program is used to evaluate the deflections at different point along the length of tapered Endodontic tip. The analytical results are verified using FEA based results, and it is found that the results by both the methods are in good agreement.

Dentist treats the inner aspects of a tooth called root canals which most commonly is referred as the pulp chamber. A Gutta-percha (GP) is used to fill the root canals which is rubbery in nature. The method of filling & sealing root canal cavity with GP to have a better seal against further bacterial infections, is called as obturation. A new technique is proposed which uses Heat and Vibration (dual-energy) to condense & fill GP material in cavities. This dual-energy combination improves efficiency of obturation technique. The dental pin is assumed as tapered cantilever, as it is suitable for compacting GP material in tapared canal space with lower stress effect. GP is highly viscous creeping fluid i.e. its Reynolds number is much less than one, we have to see whether the dental pin vibrates in GP or not because the vibration amplitude of the pin decreases with the increase in viscosi...

The high cost involved in developing cold storage or controlled atmosphere storage is a pressing problem in several developing countries. Many vegetables need high relative humidity (≥ 70%) with absolutely no exposure to direct heat or sunlight. Annual relative humidity in many parts of India ranges from 35% to 60%. Annual temperatures are also going high in many populated states of India. Experiments are conducted on natural and forced updraft evaporative coolers. Coolers are made of G.I sheet of 0.5 mm thick. PUF is used as an insulation and it is placed between the G.I sheets in pressed condition to avoid air gap between G.I sheet and foam. Inner volume of each cooler is one cubic feet with a storing capacity of 1 to 1.5 kg of vegetables only. Experiments are performed on natural draft and forced updraft evaporative cooler to understand the variations in relative humidity, temperatures and quantity of water evaporated in Pune. Shelf life of few vegetables and their important properties are also measured during experiments. Observations are also compared with the vegetables kept in open air conditions inside and outside the room. Heat balance for actual quantity of water evaporated and heat transmission in evaporative cooler is made. Sensory evaluation of vegetables is also made after conducting the experiments. It is observed that to avoid the problem of shrinkage, wilting and to retain freshness evaporative cooling is a better option in tropical countries. Shelf life of minimum 4 to 5 days is observed for selected vegetables. Natural evaporative cooler performance is found better than the performance of forced updraft cooler. Experiments are aimed to develop innovative cold storage test rig with the combined use of evaporative cooling, Thermal Energy Storage (TES) concept, ventilation and insulation. These experiments will certainly help to develop low cost cold storages for vegetable preservation at farm end in India.
