Here not only doctors but the parents are also equally responsible for propagating this social evil as most of them are unaware about the Act and its legal implications and consequences of the declining sex ratio. Methods: Study was conducted over a period of 24 months from December 2018 to November 2018 in Immunisation OPD of a tertiary health care centre and a primary health centre with a sample size of 117 in both areas. Simple Random sampling method was used and analysis was done using SPSS software. Results: Out of 234 mothers approximately 70% were aware that pre-natal sex determination can be done. About 40% were aware that it is illegal, 30% said that ultrasonography is used for doing it, 20% said that both doctor and parents are punished under this act. Only 5% were aware about the correct punishment under this Act. Awareness regarding the place, method, legality and punishment was more among mothers of urban area as compared to rural area. Education and socioeconomic status was associated with awareness. Conclusion: Creating awareness in the general public and specifically mothers regarding the Act and consequences of its violation. Since the Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THO Act) was passed in India, in 1994, Organ transplant activity was possible from Brain Stem dead donors in India. We have actual organ donation rate for cadaver in India is currently 0.05 per million population. Education programs have recently been suggested as a new approach in solving the organ shortage. This study intends to assess the awareness about organ donation among young Nursing students and staff in a tertiary apex institute in a metropolitan area. Aims and Objectives-To assess the knowledge and address the concerns about organ donation among nursing staff and identifying the de-motivating factors in organ donation and hence to evolve strategies for promotion of organ donation among them. MATERIALS AND METHODS It was a cross-sectional study, 98 nursing students and nursing staff working in Apex Medical in Metropolitan area who consented to participate in the study were enrolled in this study using universal sampling method. A pretested, semi-structured questionnaire was used to collect information by interview. RESULTS Among all the 98 participants, 83% participants knew the terminology of organ donation; only 50% participants said that organ can be donated by living donor as well as after death. Only 39% knew about the fact that brain stem death and coma are different; however, their knowledge was inadequate. Only 52% knew that close relative's consent is important before organ donation. About half of the participants (46%) felt that organ donation is accepted by all religions. In other words, there is a transfer of medical and health information between distant sites/participants using telecommunication and information technology as a substitute for personal contact. Telemedicine technology can be utilized for a wide range of health-care needs. This fall into three major categories including: (a) Tele-consultation (b) tele-monitoring and support and (c) tele-education to provide academic exposure to the doctors serving in rural areas. The aim of the study is to gain practical insights to evolve strategies for effective facilitation of Telemedicine with objectives are to assess the utilization patterns & extent of utility of Telemedicine services in rural areas of Maharashtra and to map the morbidity patterns and epidemiological determinants of the patients reported to Telemedicine unit. Materials & Methods: Retrospective data analysis of all cases referred (Case documents / audio-video records) to telemedicine department of an Apex Institute KEM Hospital Mumbai from May 2008 to March 2014. Data was collected from telemedicine department in month of august 2014. Results-1) Referrals for diagnostic opinions predominate amongst the total cases reported through telemedicine. 2) Most cases were referred for "second opinion".
