The study adopts a decision science approach to argue that entrepreneurs create business models by making choices based on what is valuable and possible rather than what is available. The Startup Evaluation Calculus with Research Evidence (SECURE I) framework has shown that the careful design of ex-ante measures can positively impact ex-post standards of firm performance. The study proposes a SECURE II framework integrating AI tools to improve the frameworks' predictive ability. By unlocking insights and patterns hidden in large volumes of data, AI can assist entrepreneurs in making informed decisions and becoming more responsive and agile to market needs. By unlocking patterns hidden in voluminous data, AI can assist entrepreneurs to predict Entrepreneurial Capability for making informed decisions and becoming more responsive and agile to market needs. The study's contributions include integrating Symbolic AI and Neural AI to aid entrepreneurial decision-making, enhancing the cognitive capacity of decision-making, and using an evaluation tool that incorporates automation and persuasiveness. The research relies on quantitative data and uses an experimental method to examine the effects of AI on entrepreneurial decision-making.

This pioneering study provides crucial insights to guide responsible adoption through a rigorous comparative benchmarking of four cutting-edge models – Claude, LaMDA, Sydney and Galactica. Carefully designed prompts assess competencies across core scholarly tasks, with quantitative scoring and qualitative analysis elucidating specialized capabilities, gaps, risks and validation needs. Key findings reveal strengths in focused assistive roles but limitations in generalizing reasoning across disciplines compared to human scholars. The AI systems emphasize extensive validation to mitigate risks, underscoring the need for transparency, peer review, reproducibility checks and continuous benchmarking as adoption accelerates. To steer progress responsibly, tailored recommendations for pragmatic system-task alignment, calibrating expectations, enhancing reasoni...

Research paper thumbnail of Reinforcing Positive Cognitive States with Machine Learning: An Experimental Modeling for Preventive Healthcare

IntechOpen eBooks, Nov 9, 2022

Considering the complex relationship between stress and psychological well-being, this study bases itself on the cognitive states experienced by us. The presented research offers insight into how state-of-the-art technologies can be used to support positive cognitive states. It makes use of the brain-computer interface (BCI) that drives the data collection using electroencephalography (EEG). The study leverages data science to devise machine learning (ML) model to predict the corresponding stress levels of an individual. A feedback loop using "Self Quantification" and "Nudging" offer real-time insights about an individual. Such a mechanism can also support the psychological conditioning of an individual where it does not only offer spatial flexibility and cognitive assistance but also results in enhanced self-efficacy. Being part of quantified self-movement, such an experimental approach could showcase personalized indicators to reflect a positive cognitive state. Although ML modeling in such a data-driven approach might experience reduced diagnostic sensitivity and suffer from observer variability, it can complement psychosomatic treatments for preventive healthcare.

There exists a requirement for sustainable NGOs that can help fill the gap between the needs of the people and the scarce resources available in developing countries. This study aimed to identify essential factors that are internally controllable by the NGO and to reflect on the impact of the internally controllable factors on the NGO’s sustainability. The study used established theories to investigate internal and external factors influencing NGOs and to identify the factors of significance. This qualitative research was designed with a systematic review followed by content analysis. It was undertaken in a developing country with a sample size of thirty-four using Purposive sampling. Analysis suggests that three variables including Financial Performance, Organizational Practices, and Community Interest have a statistically significant effect on sustainability. The stu...

This article will be the contribution to the dialogue and the concepts by building knowledge on the idea of consumerism as false consciousness. This study will examine how the ideology of consumerism holds false or apposite principle what it discourses. This article will discuss the available literature on the topic and critically inquire the ideology of consumerism and its implicit meaning which people or society infer as real meaning or ideology which people follow, but they don’t realise it’s not serving the actual purpose. Food waste is a conscious decision to throw away food or it could be due to negligence. Conclusion of the critical inquiry entails that conscious decision derives from social norms, culture, upbringing, extra resources and overconsumption. As consumerism, on face value seems beneficial for the growth of the society is leading us towards laziness, dependency on machines, hedonism, and ove...

It also analyzes how behavioural psychology influences the entrepreneurial opportunity recognition-refinement process (OPRR). The machine learning and structural equation modelling analyses of the data from 271 Indian entrepreneurs support the hypotheses of a direct effect of the physiological biomarker—Testosterone-Cortisol Ratio (TCR) and behavioural marker—communities of inquiry (COI) on OPD. Further, partial mediation indicated an indirect positive effect of COI on OPD, with OPRR moderating this relationship. Shedding new light on the enigmatic entrepreneurial opportunity behaviour from a biological and behavioural perspective improves the causal inference of external and socially-influenced COI and internally-triggered TCR. Finally, theoretical and methodological contributions are discussed along with implications that can guide future research on entrepreneurial opportunity be...

Research paper thumbnail of The Impact of Using Social Networking Sites at Work on Organizational Knowledge

Employers then have started regulating SNSs usage at work, but extreme monitoring and blockage of SNSs can spoil the relationship between employers and employees and can negatively affect organizational knowledge (OK). Therefore, this study investigates the effect of using SNSs on OK by employees at work. Collecting data from employees working in national and multinational organizations and using structural equation modelling for data analysis, the results showed that using SNSs for business activities and for emotional disclosure enhanced OK. In contrast to these findings, work deviation caused using SNSs decreased OK but had no effect on productivity. Finally, the study concluded that the benefits of using SNSs at work are increasingly growing but require transparent policies to reduce employee distractions.
