The present paper aims at assessing spatial problems of primary education among the blocks of Mathura district. This study was based on secondary sources of data. A total of eighteen selected variables were grouped into the three categories of primary educational attainment, primary educational facilities and socioeconomic development. Statistical techniques like composite zscore and correlation have been applied to the data sets. The study revealed that at the block level there was unequal distribution of attainment in primary education. It is also interesting to note that the low level of attainment in primary education was mainly due to the socioeconomic conditions of people rather than the educational facilities available in the blocks.

Emerging technology trends and the population structure of India indicate that in the near future there is likely to be a strong demand for multi-channel service delivery especially delivery of services via mobile devices. Despite attempts by the government to offer various mobile-based services to help farmers, several challenges remain. One of the future challenges will be to create effective business models for m-governance in the agriculture sector. Also there is need for specialized m-agriculture services for each particular agribusiness sector (e.g. forestry, horticulture, organic agriculture etc.). Within this context, in this paper we present a framework for identifying m-government applications for agriculture, which would address many of the ch...

While there are numerous works substantiating positive and negative effects of sponsorship, and intervening variables, that create long term stable brand attitudes, there are limited works that suggest ways for sponsors to communicate about sponsorship investments on social media, and their immediate behavioural outcomes. This work, using Twitter as social media platform, proposes one important dimension of a sponsor's online communications, namely articulation, with sentiment and electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) as behavioural effects. Analysis of user tweet data of four grand slam tennis events for two years suggests that components of articulation (productfocused/event-focused) have mixed effects on positive sentiment and e-WOM respectively.

Because it has redefined consumer–brand interaction, social media is considered an important customer activation tool by businesses across the globe. Social media has recently become an effective tool that can be utilized by marketers for tapping shared interests of their customers and stimulating engagement to create positive attitudinal and behavioral outcomes, especially in the sponsorship domain. This is because social media is extremely popular with sports fans and acts as a great outlet for discussions related to sport and sport-related issues, which sometimes spill over to conversations about associated brands. Although there is a scholarly focus on consumer engagement in online platforms, there are scant studies on the use of social media by sponsors, and on how social media can act as a ...

Research paper thumbnail of Analyzing the effect of brand building activities on brand image using topic modeling techniques

Proceedings of the 31st Annual ACM Symposium on Applied Computing, 2016

Corporate brand building activities are used by companies to influence the behavior of customers.... more Corporate brand building activities are used by companies to influence the behavior of customers. Corporate brand building activities comprise of Cause Related Marketing (CRM), sponsorship, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities etc. There exists plethora of studies that have examined the impact of brand building activities on the brand / company image [5], [8] using consumer survey method. Still, quantifying the effects of brand building activities is complex as these activities bring intangible benefits to the company (such as brand image, reputation, positive word of mouth), that may be materialized only in the long run [9]. However, with increasing usage of social media and internet by consumers and companies, the web may work as rich source of information for analyzing impact of brand building activities on company / brand image. Therefore, there is a necessity of a system which can analyze the impact of brand building activities on the brand / corporate image using web data (news, blogs, and Social media data etc.). In this work, a unique methodology for analyzing the impact of brand building is proposed. This work would also contribute to the development of new social media metric for measuring the impact of marketing activities on brand image.

This policy aimed to not only reduce personal vehicles on the road, but also motivate commuters toward sustainable transportation. In this paper, we examine public perception toward odd-even restrictive driving and its acceptance based on value-belief-norm (VBN) theory. Further, this study investigates the role of trust in local government in relation to the acceptance of the restrictive driving transport policy. Survey data from 317 responses from the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) was analyzed with partial least squares structural equation modeling, and results indicate that personal norms, policy effectiveness, and policy complexity significantly influence policy acceptance. The findings suggest that trust in local government reduces the inverse relationship between policy complexity and acceptance. The results emerged as possible insights for policymakers in the effective design of restrictive driving policies and sustainable transportation.

Research paper thumbnail of Investigation of contribution of number of trials in Monte Carlo simulation for uncertainty estimation for a pressure balance

It is well established that the estimation of measurement uncertainty is vital for the validation... more It is well established that the estimation of measurement uncertainty is vital for the validation of any measurement and is an essential parameter of quality assurance. Apart from the conventional technique of law of propagation of uncertainty (LPU), which has many limitations, Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) technique has become an essential tool for the estimation of measurement uncertainty in various fields of metrology. The most critical factor in MCS is the generation of random numbers of the input quantities according to their probability distributions. The number of Monte Carlo trials to generate these random numbers significantly affects the results. In particular, the required number of trials is also affected by the parameter for which the uncertainty is to be estimated. Hence, in the current paper, the effect of selection of the number of trials on the random number generation and the resulting output in terms of standard deviation (SD) is investigated for the uncertainty in...

Research paper thumbnail of ‘The tweeting sponsor’: effect of a sponsor’s SNS message articulation/interactivity on consumers’ online response

The relations are, further, moderated by the sponsor-event functional fit. Research Method: The data were collected from Twitter and the proposed relations analysed using seemingly unrelated regression. The sample size was 131 sponsors for tennis grand slam events across the years 2016–17. Findings: Significant effects of articulation on POS/e-WOM and of interactivity on e-WOM were found. The sponsor-event functional fit moderated the effect of event-focused articulation on POS/e-WOM and of interactivity on e-WOM. Implications: Besides conceptualizing a sponsor’s two SNS message components, this study examines their effect on the consumers’ online response. The importance of SNS message articulation and interactivity, contingent to a sponsor’s functional fit with the event, for creating maximum impact is discussed.

However, few studies have explored the role of technology anxiety and information quality in the E-government adoption process. The purpose of this paper is to examine the direct and indirect effects of technology anxiety and information quality on E-government adoption. The results of our study indicate that technology anxiety indirectly influences E-government adoption. At the same time, the direct effect of technology anxiety on E-government adoption weakens in the presence of effort expectancy. Perceived information quality has positive direct effect on E-government adoption. However, we did not find any significant indirect effect of information quality on E-government adoption. This study contributes to E-government adoption frameworks by analysing the effect of computer and internet related anxiety and information quality on the adoption of E-government services. Implications for theory and practice that would help the policy makers in enhancing the effectiveness of E-government services have been discussed.
