We have studied 2517 tweets. Both the languages and the content of the tweets were taken into consideration to see who is assembled and what discursive elements are used in the framing. Our results indicate that the fires are framed as a global concern, beyond the Brazilian borders, especially as ‘the lungs of the world’. The framing of responsibility for the fires is focused on president Bolsonaro, who is assembled in many tweets, while animals and indigenous people are framed as victims. We conclude that the tweets in English tend to produce more relationships in terms of likes and retweets, in comparison to tweets in Portuguese and Spanish. In addition, the role of politicians and celebrities seems critical in getting traction around a hashtag and making it trending.

Based on a longitudinal case study of a regional Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) ecosystem in Sweden, constituted of a document analysis and 24 semi-structured interviews with 18 representatives from regional authorities, mobility service providers, and other stakeholders from the public and private sectors, this study examines the co-existing and competing institutional logics at play, identified as State logic, Market logic, Sustainability logic, Experimental logic, and Service logic. The analysis reveals that these institutional logics pertain to tensions in the collaboration within the ecosystem’s stakeholders in terms of: (1) finding a common vision and scope for MaaS, (2) establishing a sustainable business model, (3) triggering a be...

The combination of theoretical insights and empirical underpinnings presented here is unparalleled. The SHARP team has provided researchers with an indispensable framework for future studies and policy makers will find a wealth of grounded research here on which to base informed policy.' Professor Andrew Dobson, Keele University, UKOur behaviour in our own homes - our recycling habits, consumer choices and transport preferences - all have a huge impact on the environment locally and globally. Governments across the world are trying to formulate and implement policies to encourage and enforce more sustainable household actions. Yet so often these policies fail to have the desired effects because of a lack of understanding of the complex interplay of policy and individual behaviour. This book examines this interplay, looking at the role of values, attitudes and constraints in the links between policy and changing behaviour at the household level. The first part of the book explores the theoretical background looking at the politics of lifestyles and lifestyle change, policy legitimacy and barriers and facilitators for pro-environmental behaviour. The second part is made up of in-depth case studies from Sweden - one of the fore-running countries in this area - examining three main types of household behaviour: waste and recycling; consumption and labelling; and transportation choices. Within these case studies, the contributors examine what policy initiatives have and haven't worked and the role of values and constraints in those processes. This is the first inter-disciplinary, in-depth look at how environmental policy enters the private, domestic sphere. The theoretical insights and policy guidance the book offers will be vital in the drive to generate behaviour change at the household level and the move towards sustainable societies

In Argentina of the 21st century, the asamblea has emerged as a figure of and for grassroots political mobilization, claiming social change and demanding justice. The Argentinean asambleas bear transnational traits of contemporary collective action, yet they also feature particular discourses and practices related to the Argentinean and Latin American political settings and historical continuities. This article examines the Argentinian asamblea as an assemblage and analyses the heterogenous aspects that interrelate which each other during asamblea meetings. The study is based on ethnographic research carried out in the last decade on the anti-mining Asamblea El Algarrobo in Andalgalá, the Association for Citizen Assemblies (UAC), and the post-disaster Permanent Assembly of Flood Victims in Santa Fe City.

This paper is about environmental justice and specifically the mobilization against the embodied health effects by pesticide fumigations in Argentine agriculture. It is based on multi-sited ethnographic fieldwork among socio-environmental activists and draws attention to the interactions between humans and other species like insects, amphibians and laboratory animals, as well as their surroundings. The description highlights strategies that actors use in their communication and mobilization. The analysis focuses on what kind of injustices that causes indignation, and the processes of animalizations as a form of oppression that can be noticed between different species, which attend to the power relations and sometimes violent encounters. While the text pays attention to encounters between different groups of humans it also highlights interactions between species (and individuals) worthy of protection, and the experiments carried out on laboratory animals.
