The Bhramari Pranayam has many health benefits but very diminutive scientific evidence showing its effects. Documentation is available of effects of Bhramari Pranayam which is done with other Pranayam and very few literature is assessable on specific effects of Bhramari Pranayam. In this paper, there is review of the available scientific studies on the Bhramari Pranayam. Hence systematically reviewed the available studies on the benefits of Bhramari Pranayam to evaluate how the studies were conducted and what are the effects of Bhramari Pranayam found to them. This review could lead in further identifying the gaps in the existing studies as well as exploring the new floor for scientific advances in this field.

Psychological stress is reported to induce enhancement of lipid peroxidation in the brain. Objective: The present study was therefore planned to evaluate whether there is increase in oxidative stress in medical students undergoing examination induced psychological stress. Materials and Method: Institutional Ethics Committee permission and seventy nine students of either sex between the age group 19 to 21 years. Students studying in first year of medical college were recruited in the study. All students signed the written informed consent before collecting blood samples. 5 ml of blood was collected from each student in a plain vaccutainer just before appearing for viva examination. Serum was separated immediately by centrifugation and MDA was estimated using (TBA) thiobarbituric acid method. Result: We observed that in 24 individuals lipid peroxidation was higher (>3 nmol/ml) than normal level (0-3 nmol/ml). The number of female students showing higher values of MDA was higher than male students with similar values of MDA (p<0.05). Conclusion: Our study thus highlights the relation between lipid peroxidation and psychological stress and also the sex wise difference in the stress levels.

It is important to add modern parameter to give authenticity to the ancient subjective parameter. 50 healthy male students between the ages of 18-25 years were selected for study. Sarata parikshan was done with the help of standard sarata parikshan proforma specially prepared by AYUSOFT C-DAC Centre for Development of Advance Computing Pune, India to find out percentage of each dhatu separately. Blood indices have been formulated by modern science to detect type of anaemia by extracting information about structure, morphology of Red Blood Cells and about haemoglobin. Blood indices give complete information of Red Blood Cells. Blood sample were collected for analysis of blood indices and this was done by auto analyser. This was survey type co relational research. The statistical analysis shows that "there is a relation between Rakta sarata and Blood indices", it's a positive relation. The person having higher percentage of Rakta sarata possesses good value of Blood indices.
