Terrestrial operation is one of the applications of FSO where data communication is established between ground to ground platforms. But the FSO has to face challenges against atmosphere in form of attenuation and turbulent channel. The atmospheric attenuation is mainly caused by scattering. The atmospheric attenuation affects the overall quality of the system. In this paper the effects of scattering on the terrestrial FSO which have a link length of 2 km, is simulated using OptiSystem 7.0. The outcome of this simulation will prove that an optical source of 1550 nm is very useful for data transmission of maximum 5 GBits/s in the local weather with a bit rate error less than 10 -9 . The results can be also used to determine FSO parameters like optical transmitted power, aperture radius of transmitter and receiver, gain of the optical signal etc for a terrestrial link of 2 km range.

This research work focused on transmission channel characterization of Free-Space-Optical (FSO) c... more This research work focused on transmission channel characterization of Free-Space-Optical (FSO) communications technology for deploying in the developing country like Bangladesh. To meet the tremendous amount of data traffic, mobile operators and ISPs need better solution than the existing RF and fiber optic communications. Moreover, Bangladesh is entering in the era of satellite communications by launching its own satellite. So, Bangladesh needs such communication technology that provides higher channel bandwidth, sophisticated transmission security and can cope channel dispersion. FSO is a good candidate that can meet all these features. The transmission channel characterization plays a significant role in optimizing the performance of FSO link. In this work, the channel characterization of FSO technology from the weather perspective of Bangladesh has been investigated thoroughly. The obtained results show that the atmospheric scattering effect does not hamper the short range FSO link performance, whereas, the atmospheric turbulence effect is not favorable to deploy FSO technology with reasonable quality signal unless it is optimized properly using antenna aperture averaging technique.

The reliability, accuracy, and efficiency of fault management on the power grid depend heavily on fault classification and fault location. This study integrates a fault detection and classification system for transmission lines and an automatic fault localisation system (ANFIS) for fault location to present a comprehensive approach to managing transmission line problems. The proposed methodology aims to address the technological challenges associated with fault management in power grids by leveraging existing research on radial basis function neural networks (RBFNN) and ANFIS. The integration and validation of the proposed methodology involve incorporating improved fault classification via RBFNN and robust fault locating through ANIS. Simulations and real-world testing will validate the integrated methodology, assessing its performance in various fault scenarios and system configurations. The WSCC 9-bus system is used to validate and test the proposed design, which includes power plants, transformers, transmission networks, and distribution networks. The ClasLoc system has a classification accuracy of 90% and a location accuracy of 89%, ensuring a safe working environment.

It has achieved an advanced performance in applications such as image classification, speech recognition, and time series forecasting. However, when the data is getting bigger, the performance computation on a single CPU becomes worse. One approach to tackle this challenge is to distribute the DNN workload into several machines. This research uses mobile cloud computing as a joint distributed environment to run the DNN application. If more than one antenna is used for transmission and reception, it will improve the performance. The reliability of the transmission of the wireless communication can be enhanced by minimizing the channel fluctuation due to fading. This minimization process can be achieved by different diversity techniques. The central idea in diversity is that different receiving antenna will receive different version of the same signal, which will increase the chances of small deep fading of signal. In this paper we have analyzed the performance of a multiple receiver antenna system using maximal ratio combining diversity technique for different parameters like BER, SNR.
