Differential scanning calorimetry, polarized optical microscopy, and X-ray diffraction measurements were used to investigate LC behavior. The complexes exhibited smectic C phase broken-fan shaped texture. On increasing spacer length of substituent, the clearing temperature range of the mesophase increased.
