Recent clinical research shows significant improvement in healing-rates with haemoglobin spray as add-on therapy to standard care but did not fully explore expected implications for care. Method: Post-hoc analysis of data from the pivotal study and simulation to attempt to answer key questions on implications for care. Three questions are addressed: What treatment response rates were achieved early on in the treatment? What healing outcomes can be expected if projected forward? What are the overall wound-burden implications for patients and carers if similar impact is achieved in regular care? Results: Post hoc analysis of the trial data showed a 100% treatment response rate in the haemoglobin arm at 4 weeks vs a 48% treatment response rate in the standard care alone arm at the same time.
