This Research intends to understand the visual aspects of Charlie Chaplin’s film Modern Times.. This paper will also try to contemplate other Chaplin’s film to vividly understand the dynamics of visuals in Chaplin’s film journey. In this paper I would try to explore Visual
communication as a perception through films and its impact on the viewer’s mind. Charlie Chaplin’s films have always had a hidden meaning in his story plots. Let it be A Great dictator, The Gold Rush, City Lights etc. Through hilarious scenes he always tried to imbibe his narrative on the minds of viewers. Watching his film without dialogues and sometimes without subtitles never became a barrier for understanding the story of the film and his broader message .His subtitles are also apt and precise "We ain’t burglars — we’re hungry is the sentence in the Film Modern Times. When so called thieves enter into a department store and caught by police this sentence pop up. This is a most valuable commentary made to show the condition of the recession and unemployment era in US. When we talk about imagination, it’s all our brain activity and perception process. As what we see in a film is our physical and optical experience, but it doesn’t go straight to our brain, but it goes with our own interpretation about the scene &visual we see. So necessarily our imagination and perception are two slightly different stages of our viewing experience.
There are three major approaches for our experience of watching film. Matravers put, it is a matter of perception where imagination plays no significant role, particularly in the fiction film genre. Currie has a different outlook. While watching a film perception boils down to the input of imaginative feelings. The third approach accepts imagination & perception are essential factors in experiencing a film.

The theoretical subjects like media theories and research techniques could be handled without much effort as it has its roots in other established subjects in higher education streams. However, subjects like Radio & Television, New Media PR and Advertising, film studies need a novel approach in imparting knowledge to the students. The teachers who are in the field used to teach as per their experiences in their media profession. That may miss the major area ofPedagogy is all about the teaching & learning process and all the inherent ingredients of classroom transactions and homework exercises. In the beginning I appealed to faculties that make students aware about the media education branch which is a fast growing dynamic and society cantered entity. Since most of the modules in Mass communication are practical based it is a duty of a teacher to evolve various demonstrable situations in their classroom transactions where student could understand the actualities of media practices.Faculty in higher education streams are more of a facilitator than a teacher. This new role demands many such aspects where we can create such an atmosphere where students would be encouraged to learn themselves. Pedagogy is not just about teaching techniques it has threads of learning outcome and the entire process of disseminating information converting it into knowledge and use that for productive purposes The New Media subject is very close to the hearts of the students. Some time they know more than us in the application and use of these media. Teacher needs to explain the socio cultural impact of the new media. Writing blogs, creating podcast needs multimedia skills -Use of multimedia is a crucial part of this module. Concentrate on that because it will help them to make a career in these areas. Enlightening them about the Search Engine Optimization process, how eyeballs could be grabbed and the significance of the feedback on social media are some of the important segments where students seek guidance. Most importantly encourage them to select the right content from the available web world and create their own indigenous script. It is better to avoid stereotype exercises which may not be suitable for each of them.Media subjects are directly connected with society, people around us. So as a teacher it is our duty to prepare students to be a part of the society and to make them society friendly individuals. There could be biases in the minds of students, our duty is to allow him/her to assess the situation and take the right approach. To build a perspective and help them to look at the national and international issues from the prism of nonpartisan lenses is our major responsibility. Cultivate the original thinking by allowing students to express through their priority subjects and topics.Flexibility and dynamism in teaching approach would benefit them immensely. Discussion and deliberation in the classroom are needed for forming the views and developing a sense of belonging among students.Always make a point to mention Fast changing scenarios and trends.it should be a part of your daily teaching exercises. Imbibing multi-tasking nature should be a strategic part of your lesson plan. Last but not least, teachers should be able to convert their teaching modules into a story
