ABSTRACT A workshop to explore the inner and outer fringes of two Institutes in Wales and Malta.T... more ABSTRACT A workshop to explore the inner and outer fringes of two Institutes in Wales and Malta.The focus will be on the collaboration of these two team to form a learning context for extending and developing clinical supervisory and systemic consultative practices.A focus on the narratives of learning where each team , it members and respective Institute's created a fusion to form a Mal-tic learning experience.We share the connections and collaborations which grew and continue to develop forming a learning culture which enhances training, trainers and trainee experience in each Institute.Participants are invited to offer feedback to,our on going project which has grown out of an EFTA-TIC and we welcome others to exchange .

Systemic practitioners seek to think outside of whatever boxes contain and restrain connectedness... more Systemic practitioners seek to think outside of whatever boxes contain and restrain connectedness, freedom, responsibility and well-being. Great ecological, informational and economic shifts make it more important now than ever for systemic therapist educators to remind and remind themselves how they take positions in relation to uncertainty and discomfort while facing ethical dilemmas concerning safety and efficacy. We need to be able to bring into question discourses of restraint and pathology (especially those most sacred to us) that reduce human beings to experiences of 'self ' and 'relationship' as bad, disordered , victim-defined, helpless and problem-saturated. We need to use the differences at the threshold of the Pale as valuable resources for transformation and liberation and at times go beyond the Pale into unchartered territory. Using this metaphor any 'Pale' becomes a threshold and context marker for transformation in training, therapy and consul...
