„Die Vorüberlaufenden“ (Passers-by) – Kafka confronts us with a (certain) perspective (perception... more „Die Vorüberlaufenden“ (Passers-by) – Kafka confronts us with a (certain) perspective (perception) The article starts with an analysis of form and structure of the text and with the identification of the genre as ‘juridical case’, then tries to illustrate what Kafka wants the readers of his text to experience. It is the distorted perception (with underlying self-consistency bias), that members of the (propertied) bourgeoisie develop, especially people, who are not sure whether they are fully accepted by this class. In the text can be seen, that they even seek for an abundance of exculpations in case they are not able to fulfill the expectations of this class or what they believe to be its expectations. This interpretation forms a clear contrast to preliminary findings on the „Vorüberlaufenden“ (Passers-by) as far as they are known by the author of the article.
Wittgenstein sees perceptions/emotions as social constructs near to reality.
