Nevertheless, autonomic dysreflexia may occur in T6 and above injured patients while performing urological interventions. In this study we try to show that if interventions without anaesthesia have effect on frequency of autonomic dysreflexia or not.

AD was more frequent in cervical patients (P = 0.034), but did not correlate with any other clinical features: sex ratio, age, disease duration, completeness of lesion, incidence of detrusor hyperreflexia/areflexia and detrusor-sphincter dyssynergia, voiding modalities, usage of anticholinergic drugs. In four patients blood pressure increase began when uninhibited contraction started, in 2 it was coincident with uninhibited contraction peak and in the other eleven it appeared at maximum bladder capacity.

Of all the patients performed antiincontinence surgery due to genuine stress incontinence in different time periods between 1991 and 2004, 196 patients who can be contacted on phone were evaluated with the same questionnaire form. Eighty one patients performed Burch colposuspension between 1991 and 1998, 40 patients performed pubovaginal sling between 1995 and 2004, and 75 patients performed tension free vaginal tape between 2001 and 2004 were reached. In the questionnaire form 10, 5 and 4 questions were about continence, probable complications and patient satisfaction, respectively. Success rate was calculated considering only patients with no signs or symptoms of incontinence after surgery. In the Burch colposuspension group 28 (36%) of the 81 patients followed up with a mean period of 53.6 (38-94) months declared incontinence. In the pubovaginal sling group 12 (30%) of the 40 patients followed up with a mean period of 42.6 (7.1-107.9) months declared incontinence. In the tension free vaginal tape group 8 (11%) of the 75 patients followed up with a mean period of 21.6 (6-38.9) months declared incontinence. The most effective method in the surgical repair of urodynamical stres incontinence seems to be pubovaginal sling in the long term. Long term results of tension free vaginal tape should be seen to compare with the other treatment modalities.

Of a total of 56 patients with a mean age of 51 (22-67) years, 40 were reached via phone contact by a physician out of the operation team. Responses to the questionnaire form including 19 questions were evaluated. Of 40 patients with a mean follow up period of 42.6 (7.1- 107.9) months, 12 (30%) had incontinence. Of these patients, incontinence did not recover after surgery in 3 patients, recurred in the first year after surgery in 3 patients and recurred after 1 year in 6 patients. All the patients, 4 cases 1 ped/day and 8 cases 2-3 peds/day, were using ped. Four patients (10%), 5 patients (13%) and two patients (5%) had stress, urgency and mixed type incontinence, respectively. One patient was not sure about the type of incontinence. Eight out of the 12 patients with incontinence had used oxybutinin hydrochlorid. Three patients we...

Intake of tolterodine and episodes of urinary leakage were noted daily. Cystometry was performed after 6, 12 and 24 weeks and quality of life was assessed.

MDA levels were estimated in the erythrocyte and plasma sample of the 25 non-metastatic prostate cancer patients, 36 benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) patients We report a very rapid and simple isocratic reversed-phase HPLC separation of MDA in normal human plasma and erythrocytes without previous purification of the MDA-TBA complex. All validation parameters were performed in our methods. Using this methods we have found elevated MDA in the plasma and erythrocyte of the prostate cancer group as compared to controls and BPH group. We have improved and validated an analytical HPLC method for determination of MDA in plasma and erythrocyte, which is simple to perform and having high sensitivity, specificity and substantial improvement in...
