Secondly, a focussed group study in which 10 domain experts were consulted to identify additional challenges in India's EV adoption involving EV charging infrastructure.FindingsAccordingly, 11 significant challenges of EV charging infrastructure development in India have been identified–seven through the comparative analysis of the literature review and four from the focussed group study. Secondary data provides insight into the situation around developed countries and in developing countries, specifically in India. Finally, the Government of India's measures and priorities to facilitate such a development are emphasised.Re...

It is done first by identifying the adequacy of existing theory in Strategic Management and secondly by developing a framework to study the industry. The methodology adopted in this paper was first to investigate the already available concepts, identifying the gaps, and to develop a framework to facilitate the understanding the Strategic Orientation of an Indian MSME in service sector. The framework proposed identifies four dimensions viz. Knowledge, Orientation, Utilization and Coordination. Each of these dimensions has been derived to include major aspects of Strategic Orientation. These findings on the context specific dimensions of Strategic Orientation and the characteristics of small firms through existing literature ascertain the connection between the strategic dimensions and firm’s performa...

Many cab services have opened renting operations. Further, mobile applications of a particular car rental or cab service allow customers to book their cab service or rent a car at any time from any location. This paper attempts to identify factors chosen by a customer while choosing a car rental services by using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) methodology.

This is based on findings that most WoC-owned SMEs fail within the first few years of establishment. The impact of the global financial crisis resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic on WoC-owned SMEs was also explored. System Dynamics (SD) is a computational modeling approach useful for understanding changes in a system over time and is applied in this study to illustrate WoC entrepreneurs' navigation through the startup and maturation of SMEs. The authors calibrated and validated the model with publicly available data. Findings revealed that more emphasis should be placed on failure reduction in the early years of establishment of these businesses. Also, there is the need for early intervention rather than focusing on the improvement of the successful business exit from the system. Results indicated that the creation of new businesses by WoC after the failure of existing businesses produced an increase in the number of failed enterprises. The authors assert that attention must be paid at the individual level through support to the entrepreneur. This study contributes to the extant literature by providing the first known SD model useful in depicting the SME system for WoC entrepreneurs in the US. The model serves as a potentially useful tool for informing effective policy making, education, and programmatic approaches to support the success of WoC entrepreneurs in the US.

However, the use of data analytics, artificial intelligence, and advanced optimization process in the day-to-day operations is yet to evolve. This paper aims to develop an optimization model for planning the production sequence and allocating resources keeping view of the technical and resource constraints of the steel plant. Multi-criteria decision modeling is used to generate the product mix, and sequencing of the product mix is done through an iterative route-finding method based on the objective selected using transportation algorithms.

Many researchers have tried to help them by creating different types of models. This has been already proved that none is successful for all types of projects and every type of environment. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) has been identified as the tool that would help in Multi Criteria Decision Making. Researchers have identified that AHP can be used for the comparison of effort estimation of different models and techniques. But the problem with traditional AHP is its inability to deal with the imprecision and subjectivity in the pairwise comparison process. The motive of this paper is to propose Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process, which can be used to rectify the subjectivity and imprecision of AHP and can be used for selecting the type of Model best suited for estimating the effort for a given problem type or environment. Instead of single crisp value, Fuzzy AHP uses a range of values to incorporate decision maker"s uncertainty. From this range, decision maker can select the value that reflects his confidence and also he can specify his attitude like optimistic, pessimistic or moderate. In this work, the comparison of AHP and Fuzzy AHP is concluded using a case study of selection of effort estimation model.

This research uses the system dynamics (SD) methodology to examine the impact of shocks in oil demand using real and theoretical scenarios. This was done by identifying leading indicators critical to OS resource development to capture sustainable development effects. The study identifies the contribution of OS resources in Canada to global sustainable development and has developed a model structure that captures the critical parameters associated with the economic-dynamics, socio-dynamics, and enviro-dynamics for the next 30 years. It also includes the impact of sudden oil supply and demand shocks and presents various recovery scenarios. The results from these scenarios indicate that it may take up to 25 years for the industry to return to its pre-shock trajectory, even assuming a rapid recovery. As such, the study proposes an adaptive model to assist sustainable energy development policies and decision-making. Accordingly, the approach can be helpful for academicians, policymakers, and practitioners for objective decision-making regarding sustainable development. Meanwhile, it provides cogent and valuable information for natural resource governance.

The model framework and the architecture responsible for daily decision-making enhances information management system in transportation and logistics processes. This application augments the capability of ‘Control Tower’ as a visualization tool to decision-making, finding possibilities, self-learning and prevention of unwanted situations.

While there is a growing literature on data-driven decision-making, the linkages of data to issues are not explicit, especially in the healthcare environment. Based on the established root cause analysis models, the attempt here is to develop an integrated framework for the visual, hierarchical and quantitative representation of the different causal relationships. A framework so designed demonstrates the interplay of data and issue(s). The issue(s) identified from the literature and actual issue(s) raised in the healthcare environment are exhibited as an Effect-Why diagram with probabilities analyzed using Markov chain in Lindo18 software. Last, of all, the network diagram (and its associated table) show a comprehensive interrelationships and provide details on the Effect-Why diagram for understanding decision-making. The Markov chain illustrates the issues that are expected to be seen in the long term. This framework shall be useful for any organization attempting the identification and resolution of root issues, in their journey towards excellence.
