Technology has permeated every aspect of teaching to the extent where there is no going back to the “before the pandemic”, therefore, in the post-pandemic times, a number of higher education institutions has introduced a policy that hybrid mode of instruction has become a “new normal”. The instructor’s role in hybrid teaching appears vital, so educators must amalgamate the advantages of online instructions with the goals relevant to face-to-face teaching. Teaching Presence, as an overarching aspect of Community of Inquiry (CoI) that incorporates the course design, facilitation and organization, can significantly affect learning outcomes and course satisfaction. Within the CoI framework, the paper investigates students’ (n=83) assessment of Teaching Presence a...

With the growth in the number of users of MOOCs (220 million users in 2021, excluding China) (Shah, 2021), educational opportunities within the field have been enhanced for both learners and course designers. The paper investigates the readiness of youth workers from 5 countries (Romania, Spain, Poland, Cyprus and Serbia) to engage in MOOCs either as learners or as instructors, after the training activities on MOOCs within the YNSPEED project have been completed. The data were collected using a questionnaire which was designed partially from the Driha et al. (2016) questionnaire and by a number of originally developed questions. Data were further analyzed using the SPSS software and descriptive statistic approach. The results suggest that although as many as 73.3% of the respondents have never completed a MOOC, MOO...

Given that instructors are key bearers of the educational process, the perception of their teaching experience during the pandemic is vital to understanding the challenges that emerged throughout the process. This paper reports on the experiences of English as a foreign language (EFL) higher education lecturer (n=89) of their emergency remote English language teaching (ERELT) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The objective of the research was to investigate how EFL lecturers assess their own instruction and relationship with students within their ERELT, and how much their teaching in ERELT differed from regular teaching conditions. Under the computer-mediated communication theory framework, the study has adopted a mix-methods research design and the data were collected through a questionnaire. The results imply that the use of computer-assisted language learning (CALL) significantly surged in the ERELT as compared to regular teaching conditions. The teaching process was assessed as a dynamic, resourceful, and stressful process, which, judging by the communicational goals, appeared to be less interactive than more traditional face-to-face instruction, causing the relationship between students and instructors to worsen to a certain extent.

The paper analyses students’ attitudes towards the use of the Microsoft Teams platform in the instruction of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) at the Faculty of Technical Sciences Čačak during the winter semester 2020. The study focuses on students’ engagement with e-learning, their motivation, and overall satisfaction with ESP instruction during pandemic conditions. The study was conducted with first-year students of engineering (N=79) using an online survey as an exploratory, qualitative research instrument. The findings of the research revealed that students have positive attitudes towards the use of Microsoft Teams in ESP instruction as the e-learning environment. The results suggest that all the available features of the tool are perceived as beneficial and easy to adapt to, with the recorded sessions ...

The use of computers to assist language learners in their studies has shifted from being an innovative approach sporadically applied by an engaged teacher, to becoming the inevitable segment of in-class activities, nowadays almost prescriptively built in syllabi. Attitudes towards CALL constantly reshape the learning process and affect the learning outcomes. The study addresses engineering students' attitudes towards the use of computer-assisted language learning in EFL courses taught at the Faculty of Technical Sciences Čačak in Serbia. The study is also concerned with the students' attitudes towards the use of the website www.englit.net as an online learning tool specially designed for the courses they attend, which is used on a regular basis for in-class practice and selfstudy. The findings indicate that CALL is perceived as an efficient supporter of the EFL teaching-learning process, generally adding to students' overall improvement in EFL competence, while at the same time empowering them to engage more in self-study.

However, culture and literature treated as natural extension or an enhancement in ESP teaching, have not been taught much, especially not in technical education institutions across the Balkans. The aim of this study is to provide perspectives on synergy of ESP and culture/literature and learners' attitudes towards benefits of intercultural communicative competence based on the outcomes of a project-based learning activity entitled '200 years of Frankenstein: re-invented by technology,' held in October 2018 at Technical College Čačak in Serbia. As the year 2018 has been widely marked as the year of international celebration of 200 th anniversary of Mary Shelley's publication of Frankenstein, Technical College Čačak (ENGLIT lab) participated in the commemoration event with an authentic three-day event. The project-based approach to ESP learning had to be complemented with the culture/literature instruction during preparation and implementation stages of the project, so that the event could result in desired outcomes. While the experimental group participated in the event, the control group consisting of students of the Department of Professional Studies of the University of Split did not partake in project-based activities. The results coming from both groups helped determine whether there were differences in students' attitudes towards learning culture and literature in language learning. The findings of the study indicate that learners' reflections on the importance of culture/literature in ESP changed after the treatment, and suggest that there is an increased interest with learners for integrating culture and literature while learning ESP. These findings can have implications for ESP policymakers, language instructors and learners

There are several ways of archiving the documents: data libraries, microfilms, scanning and electronic archiving. The focus of the paper is how quality teaching can be achieved and maintained in a language program. Quality teaching is achieved through a complex assurance process that consists of four main factors. Teacher factors include teachers’ skills and qualification, their preparation for teaching process and professional development. Teaching process itself, including proper input, interaction and motivation, is the second factor that affects quality teaching. Working conditions and environment, supporting staff and creating context for students to use the language, can also facilitate good teaching. Finally, qualityassuring mechanisms, evaluation and monitoring to support quality control is the fourth and one of he most important factors in language learning and teaching.
