The bath contained aqueous solution of silver nitrate, thiourea, EDTA, ammonia and holmium nitrate. Silver nitrate was used as a silver (Ag+) ion source; thiourea as sulfur (S−) ion source, EDTA was a complexing agent while ammonia was used to maintain pH, Ho(NO3)3 was taken as a source of Ho ions. The optical absorption edge of undoped (pure) and Ho doped silver sulfide films was determined between 324 nm and 298 nm showing blue shift as compared to bulk Ag2S. Band gaps calculated from Tauc plot also showed an increase in values for doped samples. The increase in band gap indicates reduced particle size in the prepared Ho doped films. The photoluminescence emission peaks were observed at around 578 nm to 601 nm wavelength and excitation peaks were found at 351 nm to 294 nm for undoped and doped films. The SEM micrograph consists of globular ball type and flower t...

We find that the broad-band spectrum of 2020 CD3 most closely resembles a V-type asteroid and some lunar rock samples with a reddish surface with a slope of 18 +/- 3 % between 434 nm and 761 nm corresponding to colors of g-r = 0.62 +/-0.08, r-i = 0.21 +/- 0.06 and an absorption band at ~900 nm corresponding to i-z = -0.54 +/- 0.10 (Isaacson et al. 2011, DeMeo & Carry 2013) as seen in the left panel of Fig. 1. Assuming typical albedos of V-type asteroids, we constrain 2020 CD3's size to be ~1.0 +/- 0.1 m in diameter when combined with our measured H magnitude of 31.74 +/- 0.14.  In our time-series data, we detect periodic lightcurve variations corresponding to a rotation period of ~573 s and a Lomb-Scargle false alarm probability of <10-4 (Fig. 2, left panel) with a lightcurve amplitude of ~1 magnitude implying a b/a axial ratio of ~2.5 (Fig. 2, right panel), though this is atypical for meter-scale asteroids which are thought to have rotation periods ~60 s (Bolin et al. 2014). In addition, we refine the orbit of 2020 CD3 with our observations extending the observational arc to 37 days between 2020 February 15 and 2020 March 23 constraining its duration of capture of 2020 CD3 to be ~1.2 years a typical capture lifetime for minimoons (Granvik et al. 2012) as seen in the right panel of Fig. 1. We also constrain the effect of radiation pressure on its orbit with an estimated area-to-mass ratio of 6.9 +/- 2.1 10-4 m2/kg*. Using our diameter and area-to-mass ratio estimates, we calculate a density of 1.6-3.3 g/cm3, broadly compatible with the densities of other small asteroids with densities constrained by radiation pressure measurements (Micheli et al. 2012) and lunar rock (~2.4 g/cm3, Kiefer et al. 2012) somewhat less dense than the typical ~3.5g/cm3 density of V-type asteroids (Carry 2012). We searched for pre-discovery observations of 2020 CD3 in the ZTF archive (Masci et al. 2019) but were unable to locate any positive detections.</p> </div> <p><strong>References:  </strong>Bolin et al. 2014, Icarus, 241, 280-297, Carry 2012, PSS, 73, 98-118, DeMeo & Carry 2013, Icarus, 226, 723-741, Kiefer et al. 2012, GRL, 39, 7, Isaacson et al. 2011, M&PS,…

Our model consists of an image compression module, an arithmetic encoder, an arithmetic decoder, and an image reconstruction module. We evaluate the compression rate and the closeness of the reconstructed image to the original image for this model. Structural similarity metrics and peak signal to noise ratio are used to evaluate the image quality. We have also measured the net reduction in file size after compression and compared it with other lossy image compression techniques. Our architecture achieves better results in terms of these metrics compared to traditional and newly proposed image compression algorithms. In particular, an average PSNR of 28.48 and SSIM value of 0.86 are obtained as compared to 28.45 PSNR and 0.81 SSIM value in the previously mentioned network.

We implemented various machine learning methods to predict stock price direction in the following paper. Technical Indicators are taken as features and models are trained upon them. Stock price direction forecasting helps us to choose from daily trading techniques and increases the probability of having massive profits while maintaining low-risk profile. In our research extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) technique has given the highest accuracy, i.e. 73.1% and have outperformed other machine learning techniques used. Our Proposed model outperforms existing models in literature and adds forecasting on day-by-day basis.

Shapiro, is a very computationally simple and effective technique for image compression. Now we express an alternative description of the principles, so that the purpose for its better performance can be well understood. These principles are ordered bit plane transmission, an image wavelet transform self-similarity across different scales and a set partitioning sorting algorithm as a partial ordering by magnitude. Also we present an optional and efficient implementation based on set partitioning in hierarchical trees (SPIHT), image compression algorithm which is very effective, less complexity and generates an embedded compressed bit-stream that can be effectively decoded at several data rates. The results of image coding, obtained from reconstructed images by the decoding algorithm and actual file sizes, are comparable to or surpass previous results obtained through much more computationally complex and sophisticated method...

Lossy image compression is being used to compress image size for transmission of images over the internet as well as their efficient storage. Convolutional Neural Networks have been used successfully in computer vision and image processing tasks but it is seldom used in tasks such as image compression. In this project, we will explore how image compression can be achieved using Deep Neural Networks which provides equivalent or better performance than traditional Image Encoding and data compression algorithms. We will show how Convolutional Neural Networks can be used along with Generative Adversarial Networks to improve image quality.
