A rights-based approach to education must be a holistic one, which takes into account all of the factors in a child’s life that will impact on their education outcomes. The right to education encompasses access to education, educational quality and the environment in which education is provided”.
Roma and Education- report explores the human right situation of Roma by exploring Roma children’s right to education in Ireland. Based on qualitative interview and focus group findings with Roma representatives, educational practitioners, academics and other relevant stakeholders, the research puts forward a framework from which to promote and ensure the right to education for Roma children in primary and post-primary education.

Based on qualitative focus groups and interviews with practitioners and members of Roma communities, the report acts as a starting point to understanding issues around Roma and maternal health in Ireland and developing adequate and effective responses to promoting and protecting Roma women’s right to maternal health.
