Each laminate consists of five plies of fabrics and resin mixture with 3 mm thickness as per different layering designation. The Specimen preparation and tensile test was carried out as per ASTM standards. It was observed that, tensile strength of the glass and sisal-glass fiber hybrid composites were higher than those of composites reinforced with sisal only, due to hybridization.

The study concentrates the energy audit on the agricultural implements and tractor trailer industries as the agriculture is the main occupation of India. A total number of 15 small and medium scale industries are considered for the energy audit. The investigations revealed welding operation as a major energy consumer in agriculture implement industries contributing to about 84% of the total energy consumption. The welding machine efficiency varies from 35% to 50% in the considered industrial clusters. Based on the results it is suggested that the energy saving can be increased by 40% - 45% by adoption of inverter arc welding technology.

Binding of cephalexin towards prepared MIP was studied in different solvents (water, methanol, 1M NaCl, acetone and acetonitrile) and best binding was observed in methanol. Partition coefficient and selectivity of prepared imprint and non-imprint was also studied. Cross reactivity in terms of binding efficiency was also assessed with other antibiotics. Chromatographic study of MIP was carried out by packing prepared imprint into glass column. MIP was used as matrix in solid phase extraction (SPE) for recovery of cephalexin from spiked milk samples for further estimation by high performance liquid chromatography. No interference was observed from milk components after elution of cephalexin from MIP, indicating selectivity and affinity of MIP. On the other hand, interference was observed in eluate obtained from C18 SPE column.

Minimal processing is the subject of major interest for both food preservation and food preparati... more Minimal processing is the subject of major interest for both food preservation and food preparation. At present; thermal processing techniques, pasteurization and sterilization methods are extensively practiced to process milk and milk products, these techniques are well established and validated ensure consumer safety. But there is a need for novel; non-thermal processing technique, so that it can minimize the organoleptically and nutritionally damaged during thermal processing, thereby, maintaining the "freshness" of foods by reducing heat degradation of nutritional and other bioactive components. There are many alternate novel food processing techniques available, amongst them high pressure processing seems a very promising technique for dairy products, as it offers numerous opportunities for developing new shelf stable foods, retaining its natural nutritional value with excellent organoleptic characteristics. In this review, effect of high pressure processing on physico-chemical properties of milk and its constituents are discussed, with focus on fermented milk products. Packaging requirements along with legal and safety concerns also elaborated in brief.
In the present investigation experimental and analytical characterization of the high temperature... more In the present investigation experimental and analytical characterization of the high temperature (superplastic) deformation of AA5083 alloy was carried out. Uniaxial tensile test was performed in a temperature range of 748-823K at different initial strain rates. Further, a numerical procedure based on MATHEMATICA was developed to predict the tensile response of the alloy for the given deformation condition. Superplasticity is the ability of polycrystalline materials to exhibit, in a relatively uniform/isotropic manner, very large tensile elongations prior to failure, under appropriate conditions of temperature and strain rates. The phenomenon of superplasticity arising due to specific microstructural conditions is commonly referred to as "structural" superplasticity or "micrograin" superplasticity. This behaviour can be utilised in the shaping and forming of parts, components and structures which cannot be easily or economically produced from materials of normally limited ductility.

Each laminate consists of five plies of fabrics and resin mixture with 3 mm thickness as per different layering designation. The water absorption tests were performed on immersing specimens into normal water. Specimen preparation and water absorption studies carried out as per ASTM standards. This paper is a review of the chemical and mechanical properties of natural fibers like sisal and banana reinforced polymer composites. Natural fibers are rich in cellulose and they are cheap and easily renewable source of fibers with the potential for polymer reinforcement. Natural fibers are emerging as low cost, lightweight and apparently environmentally superior alternatives to glass fibers in composites. In most of the cases, the specific properties of the natural fiber composites were found to compare favorably with those of glass. This work has been carried out to evaluate the mechanical properties of hemp/E-glass fabrics reinforced polyester hybrid composites. Vacuum bagging method was used for the preparation of six different kinds of hemp/glass fabrics reinforced polyester composite laminates as per layering sequences. The tensile, flexural, impact and water absorption tests of these hybrid composites were carried out experimentally according to ASTM standards. It reveals that an addition of E-glass fabrics with hemp fabrics can increase the mechanical properties of composites and decrease the water absorption of the hybrid composites.

The mechanical properties evaluated are tensile strength, flexural strength, impact strength and hardness. The density of each of the laminates and water absorption properties are also evaluated. The six laminates of banana and E-glass fabrics of dimension 240*240*3 mm 3 is fabricated by hand layup and vacuum bagging method. The impregnation of laminates is done by using polyester resin as matrix material. Finally, curing is done in the autoclave for 4 hours at 70 0 C. From the results of the testing process, it is found that the maximum tensile strength, maximum flexural strength, maximum impact strength and maximum hardness is observed in pure glass fabric laminate and minimum in pure banana fabric laminate. The pure E-glass fabric laminate absorbs more amount of water and pure banana fabric laminate absorbs minimum am...

Titanium alloys such as Ti-6Al-4V is expensive because of the alloying additions like Vanadium are extremely expensive, still this alloy is widely used in aerospace applications by manufacturing the components through superplastic route. The alloy Ti-Al-Mn (made as per the Russian specification, OT4-1) could be a candidate material for replacing the costly Ti-6Al-4V alloys. In the present investigation, tensile tests were carried out on this alloy in the temperature range of 1073 K to 1173 K (800 to 900C) in the strain rate range of 1x10 to 1x10 s in order to characterize the high temperature superplastic deformation behavior. A maximum elongation of 450% was observed at 1123 K at an initial strain rate of 5.52x10 s indicating superplastic behavior of this alloy. ...

Fibers are extracted from banana plant,Further compositelaminates were prepared with randomly distributed fiberswith different weight fraction of banana ranging from 30%, 35% and 40%. Composites are prepared using hand layup technique.Tests were performed to determine fracture toughness(Mode I) and mechanical properties of these laminates. The tests were performed to examine the effect of weight fraction of fiber on the fracture toughness of the composite. As epoxy is a brittle material, stress intensity factor is utilized to evaluate the fracture toughness of the composites. From the experimental results were carried out on different weight fractions of banana. It is observed that the 40 % of banana fiber shows maximum fracture toughness,Composite plate of 30% shows the maximum tensile strength.
