Authors of the article analyze inquiries of populations in crisis for social and psychological co... more Authors of the article analyze inquiries of populations in crisis for social and psychological counselling and support, in particular, associated with domestic and gender-based violence, in the regions of Ukraine which suffer the most due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The sample includes individuals who receive social services provided by state agencies and civil society organizations in different cities of Ukraine, namely, in different territorial communities. The number of respondents selected among clients of social services providers was 357 people. The survey method has provided authors with better understanding of services delivered to these populations, and which of them were in demand; impact of COVID-19 pandemic on families of social services recipients; needs of residents of communities and major providers of social and psychological services in these communities. In the job it is shown the structure of IC-competence of the teacher of higher education. It is o... more In the job it is shown the structure of IC-competence of the teacher of higher education. It is offered system approach in forming IC-competence at the university. It is defined the need for university teachers to increase the level of educational, scientific collaboration and project management. It is described the experience of implementation distance learning course for the teachers of the postgraduate studies; course on development of educational, scientific collaboration and project management with IC tools in universities is described in order to increase their level of IC-competence. The results of reflection and self-evaluation of the participants of pilot training on the distance course are presented. The prospects for further research are described.

The purpose of this article is to identify the typical problems of parents raising children with disabilities. Based on the in-depth interviews conducted by parents raising children with disabilities in two regions of Ukraine (n=60), groups of typical problems they face (discrimination, medical problems, imperfection of regulatory support, information problems, access problems, problems of early diagnosis / early intervention, psychological problems, risk of institutionalization, financial and economic problems) and their analysis. The research focuses on the identification of types of social and preventive work with women in w... more The research focuses on the identification of types of social and preventive work with women in women's consultations and maternity clinics to prevent abandonment of a newborn. The purpose of the research is to identify typical problems and needs of mothers in risk of abandoning a newborn. In the article, authors describe results of in-depth interviews of mothers who have been, or are at high risk of abandoning a newborn. Identified problems authors grouped into two main groups: psychological and social problems. In addition, the authors conducted a series of focus groups with health workers in delivery departments and women’s consultations, and as a result - suggested a categorization of factors influencing on abandoning a child in the first two years. These factors were grouped by the authors into two main categories: “personal” and “reference” factors. The massive open online course (MOOC) movement is the latest “big thing” in open and distance lea... more The massive open online course (MOOC) movement is the latest “big thing” in open and distance learning (ODL). Many users around of the world are interested in MOOCs. At the same time, numerous questions are still without answers: formal aspects of participation in MOOCs; the type of motivation on the part of students for participation in MOOCs; quality of MOOCs; students’ opinions about type, structure, contents and communication in MOOCs; and other aspects. The authors of this article have conducted analyses of selected aspects of MOOCs in Europe, Russia and in Australia. They considered the following aspects: what is MOOC, the history and key features of MOOCs, MOOC types, cMOOCs, xMOOCs MOOCs and open education timeline, MOOC style and motivations benefits as well as challenges for MOOC. The authors also looked at pedagogy, quality, assessments and credit, sustainability, MOOC implementation, implications for high education including policy, as well as presenting and analysing the research results of a survey conducted among students of several countries within the framework of the European Union project IRNet (www.irnet.us.edu.pl).

The article explores the key issues and needs of families of participants in anti-terrorist opera... more The article explores the key issues and needs of families of participants in anti-terrorist operation (ATO). The article defines and characterizes several types of families of ATO participants, who took part in an interview. Based on in-depth interviews and further analysis, the authors identified four categories of problems of these families, e.g., psychological, financial, legal, and problems with raising children. It was determined that violations of the life of the families whose members were ATO participants were caused not only by family-specific problems but also by several other factors. Based on the identified specific problems, the authors identified the main needs of the families of the members of antiterrorist operations. Judy, J. Cooper, M. Chartrand, D. Frank, T. Shope, J. Mancini) has studied the consequences of the stay of a family member in a war zone, noting that family members of combatants are in a stressful situation during the stay of one of the family member in the war zone and are exposed to negative impacts. Several foreign researchers (C. Taylor, M. Ross, J. Wood, G. Harb, K. Lynch, D. Rubin, 2015) argue that both children and adults who are the family members of combatants have problems during the absence of their fathers. Children adopt more risky behavior, become more aggressive, disobedient, and early begin to assert themselves. The researchers also noted that children are at high risk even after the returning of their fathers, which is indicated by the increase in stress in families during the stay of combatants in the war zone and after their return home. This is also the opinion of another foreign researcher, J. Buehrle (2014), who notes that school-age children whose parents are in the war zone are more likely to of develop behavioral problems. In addition to the research, the author argues that a family member's stay in the area of military conflict has a negative impact on the career of the other the spouse, because they are in constant stress, anxiety, and are forced to fulfil all the requirements of the family. According to other studies (K. Iverson, D. Vogt, M. Dichter, S. Lou, 2015), the wives of war veterans exposed to sexual violence from men have post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and other mental health disorders. But today, most conflicts occur precisely in the family environment between spouses and between parents and children.
