Kulturni resurs, zahvaljujuci turizmu, odnosno njegovoj konverzijskoj funkciji postaje kulturni turisticki proizvod. U tom procesu iznimno je važan marketinski pristup. To podrazumijeva, uz suradnju razlicitih timova strucnjaka, obradu kulturnih sadržaja i resursa i njihovo oblikovanje u marketinski prihvatljiv proizvod, kreiranje marke atrakcije te pozicioniranje kulturnog turistickog proizvoda.

There are several kinds of protected areas, which vary by level of protection depending on the enabling laws of each country or the regulations of the international organizations involved. The term "protected area" also includes marine protected areas, the boundaries of which will include some area of ocean. In the Republic of Croatia, 9.5% of total territory is proclaimed a protected area and the largest part of that area, i.e. 79%, belongs to the national parks and nature parks, which, together with strict nature reserves, according to the Croatian Law on Nature Protection are under highest protection regime. Out of 8 national parks and 11 nature parks, 3 national parks and 2 nature parks are located on the islands and their marine surroundings. Being extraordinary in terms of tourist attractiveness, protected areas, especially those situated on islands, represent the object of ever rising growth of tourist demand. Hence their carrying capacities are overburdened and the very essence of their existence is endangered. This paper deals with the analysis of the possible threats and benefits that tourism development poses to the protected areas located on Croatian islands which are, as far as economic orientation is concerned, dominantly focused on tourism. Hence, by analysing problems island protected areas face regarding an ever growing pressure of tourism demand, some recommendation will be given concerning possible policies and measures that ought to be implemented in order to keep both the island protected areas and tourism development sustainable.

Crises are deemed to be negative changes in the economic, political, societal, biological or environmental affairs. Most of them have local or regional impacts. However the most recent years have proved that a crisis may even widespread throughout the world causing serious problems on a global level. Such a crisis gets the prefix „global“which implies the highest level of complexity. Based on the chaos theory and complexity framework this paper tends to explain the impacts of the crises of different type and extent on the dynamical behaviour of a tourism destination system, recognized as a highly complex system. The questions that are to be answered here are as follows: Whether the growing number of highly unpredictable crises makes sustainability of a tourist destination impossible? Could the entropic tendencies within a destination caused by crises be diminished by applying cybernetics’ postulates in the management process? Could these postulates be of common values i.e. could they help in creating a generic management model or have to be individually tailored? For the purpose of reaching these answers the following issues are to be explored: first a short literature review on the tourism and crises’ interplay will be given ; then the impacts of crises on tourism industry will be explored an explained through the conceptual model. Finally, by applying the chaos theory and the study of complex systems the paper will try to explain the behaviour of a tourism destination seeking to implement cybernetics‘postulates with the aim of reaching the goal of sustainability.
