This anomaly is caused by changed of electronic structure. Results of Tc-measurements in ternary and quaternary indium solid solutions in the Tc anomaly area are presented. The minimum value of Tc for these alloys occurs at Z = 2.98. The effective Z, denoted Z*, is determined from the alloy composition at the minimum Tc resulting in following numbers: (2.0 ± 0.1) for Mg, (2.6 ± 0.1) for T1, (3.9 ± 0.1) for Pb, (4.0 ± 0.1) for Sn, and (3.25 ± 0.2) electrons/atom for Hg. Unique dependence of Tc on Z* is found for each group of alloys when the effective electron concentrations are calculated from the Z*-number.

We study the influence of the hybridization introduced by the self-energy and how it can affect the shape of the characteristic lower, upper and middle-energy resonance.

The effective potentials considered are found from spin fluctuations within a three-dimensional Hubbard single band model. Vertex effects are included and discussed within this formalism. We find that the self-energy tends to violate the Luttinger theorem when the bandwidths are narrowed. We note that when the bands are further narrowed, the corresponding Eliashberg-like equations tend to yield superconductivity.

The dynamically screened hole-hole interaction is deduced from the random-phase approximation. We calculate the pair potential, the spectral function and the density of states of the interacting system, as a function of the quasimomentum of the bubble polarization. The influence of vertex effects on both the potential and the solutions of the resulting Eliashberg-like equations is discussed for the different band conditions and coupling strength.

We give a method for obtaining renormalized electronic structures arising from quasiparticle band... more We give a method for obtaining renormalized electronic structures arising from quasiparticle band structures of actual Hubbard systems, using some of the self-energies deduced in paper I of this series. The quasiparticle band structures are determined from an appropriate modification of the augmented plane-wave method, and the renormalized density of states is found from the spectral functions. We calculate the quasiparticle structure of a Ce system, which presents the three characteristic types of resonances of the pseudogap regime mentioned in paper I of this series and also the electronic structure of Y-Ba-Cu-O, which seems to display the characteristics of a standard Fermi liquid or a marginal Fermi liquid.

This analysis allows us to establish the conditions of the electronic structure for obtaining coupling and superconductivity in these materials.
