The objective of this study was to compare the outcomes of root coverage in surgical techniques employed for Tunnel root coverage and Coronally Positioned Flap (CPF), both associated to Subepithelial Connective Tissue Graft (SCTG), in patients with Cairo RT2 gingival recession. Methods: Forty-one Cairo RT2 recessions were selected in 18 patients divided in groups to undergo root coverage surgery. The patients were evaluated at 0, 90, and 180 post-operative days for verification of the recession height and width, probing depth, bleeding on probing, clinical attachment level, gingival thickness, and zone of keratinized tissue (P<0.05%). Results: There was 1.84 ± 1.03 mm gain in gingival height in the Tunnel + SCTG group, and 2.33 ± 0.90 mm in CPF + SCTG group, without statistically significant differences between groups, and the coverage average w...

According to the patient's history, a trauma has occurred two years earlier and was the cause of two teeth loss (21 and 22) in this area. One year after this trauma, a swelling appeared and progressed, accompanied by pain, about whose features the patient was unable to give details. At the time he looked for dental assistance, there was no more pain, but the swelling was still present in the maxillary left side. The patient brought the panoramic radiograph required by another professional [Table/Fig-1]. The panoramic radiograph showed radiolucent lesion in the anterior maxilla. for proximity or any involvement with important structures. CBCT showed a hypodense image in the periapical region of 11, measuring about 20.69×17.18×16.75 mm, with regular limits, disruption of vestibular cortical bone, involvement of incisive canal and left nasal floor, but without any membrane thickening [Table/Fig-3].

During embryonic life, non-fusion of the maxillary and medial nasal plaques leads to cleft lip and palate. Fissures can produce a range of dental problems in terms of number, size, shape, and position, related to deciduous or permanent dentition. Besides this, the teeth most affected are those located in the fissure area. There are numerous treatment protocols, which, despite the lack of a consensus, start as soon as the child is born, going into adulthood, seeking functional and aesthetic rehabilitation. The surgical phases, lip repair, nasal repair, palatoplasty and alveolar bone grafting, are performed according to age. As for the bone graft, the most used option is the secondary graft, with the autogenous one being the most available. Thus, the objective of this work is to present a clinical case of secondary alveolar bone grafting in a 10-year-old female patient with an incomplete unilateral pre-foramen cleft.

Currently, treatment does not have a defined protocol, being widely varied in the literature. This article proposes that cases of ECR should be treated individually, following different criteria, based on aspects related to the patient and the tooth involved. Furthermore, this work illustrates, through a case report, how a patient can present unique characteristics that require treatment to be case-dependent and should be discussed among a multidisciplinary team.

In the present observational and retrospective study, the objective was to check the occurrence of these tumors in patients attended at the project of Oral Lesions: 'Diagnosis, treatment and epidemiology of diseases of the oral cavity' of the State University of Maringa, between 1995 and 2015. Data were obtained from the project charts, in what concerns the variables: gender, age, race, diagnosis, lesion site, time of evolution, symptomatology and radiographic characteristics. Tumors were classified in agreement with the World Health Organization (2005). A total of 2581 records were analyzed. Among them 32 (1.45%) showed the diagnosis of odontogenic tumor. There was no statistically significant difference among genres. The age group with greater incidence was 23-33 years old. Among the patients, 55.3% stated they did not know which the time span of evolution of the tumor. There was greater incidence in people of Caucasian origin and the most affected site was the left posterior region of the mandible. The keratocystic odontogenic tumor, followed by ameloblastoma and odontoma were shown to be the most common neoplasms found in the patients who participated in the project.
