The chemical–physical characterization of the product showed that Pro-AgNPs were well synthesized. For the study of biological properties, aqueous and methanolic extracts were prepared from both propolis and Pro-AgNPs. Total polyphenol contents (TPCs) and antiradical activities showed their highest values in methanolic extracts, in particular in propolis extract. But, a higher TPC was found in Pro-AgNP aqueous extract as compared to propolis aqueous extract. It seems that Pro-AgNP synthesis helped extract more phenolic compounds with water. These compounds did not enhance antiradical activity in Pro-AgNP aqueous extract but increased its antibacterial activity.

Itwas prepared, characterized and used as a precursor for zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) by calcination. The coordination polymer was characterized by elemental analysis, IR an UV-visible spectra fluorescence technique, X-ray powder diffraction analysis (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Thermogravimetry (TG), derivative thermogravimetry (DTG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) have been used to study the thermal decomposition steps and to calculate the thermodynamic parameters of the nano-sizedmetal coordination polymer. The kinetic parameters have been calculated making use of the Coats- Redfern and Horowitz-Metzger equations. The polymer and zinc oxide possess a nanoparticle size of 20 and 34 nm, respectively. The x-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscope SEM and transmission electron microscope TEM of both derivatives of 2,3,4- pyridyl and imidazole metal compounds is also studies. A study of the thermal behaviour of these complexes is important to elucidate the kinetic and mechanistic aspects of their thermolysis as well as their stabilities. It also aims to apply of the prepared coordination polymer in the preparation of Cu-ZSM-5 zeolite catalysts via solid state ion exchange method and testing the activ...

Terephthalic acid (TPA)=1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid andBPY=2,2'-bipyridyl has been prepared and characterized. The structure of the complexes has been assigned based on elemental analysis, IR, electronic spectral studies, thermal analysis and Scanning electronmicroscope. Thermogravimetry(TG), derivative thermogravimetry (DTG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) have been used to study the thermal decomposition of the complexes. The kinetic parameters have been calculated making use of the Coats-Redfern and Horowitz-Metzger equations. The biological screening of the compounds was tested. The bacteria and fungi strains are common contaminants of the environment inEgypt. In this article the studied strains are frequently reported from contaminated soil, water and food.

The biosynthesis of Pd-NPs employing Saudi propolis has been designed to be environmental, fast, controlled, and cost-effective. The formation and stability of biosynthesized Pd-NPs by Saudi propolis extract were proved by ultraviolet–visible spectrophotometry (UV-Vis), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and Zeta potential analysis. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) findings show that the average particle size of Pd-NPs is between 3.14 and 4.62 nm, which is in quantum scale. The Saudi propolis enhanced the antimicrobial activity against B. subtilis, S. aureus, E. coli, K. pneumoniae, and C. albicans. Pd-NPs show effective anticancer activity against ductal carcinoma (MCF-7) with IC50 of 104.79 µg/mL.

The studied glasses were labeled as LNZP0–LNZP6 according to the values of Na2O and ZnO. Mass attenuation coefficient (MAC), Linear attenuation coefficient (LAC), half-value layer (HVL) and mean free path (MFP) have been calculated by the Phy-X/PSD software program in the photon energy range from 0.015 to 15 MeV. The results show that the highest values of MAC were 30.64, 31.98, 33.34, 34.62, 35.89, 36.82 and 38.09 cm2/g at the energy 0.015 MeV for LNZP0-LNZP6 glass samples, respectively. Also, atomic cross section (ACS), electron cross section (ECS), effective atomic number (Zeff) and electron density (Neff) have been estimated. The results showed that the LNZP6 glass sample has the best gamma-ray protection properties among other examined glasses. The ACS and ECS parameters were found to have the maximum value at 0.015 MeV and decreased with increasing energy of photons for all samples. The Maximum values of Zeff were at the energy 0.04 MeV equal to 48.92, 48.72, 48.56, 48.37,48.19, 48.02 and 47.85 for LNZP0-LNZP6, respectively.
