The investigations are carried out on a one-dimensional model problem whose exact nonlinear solution is computed when the magnetic flux is assigned. In spite of its simplicity, this model can present the same computational difficulties as most actual

Two different approaches, based on a primal-dual barycentric discretization of the 3-D space, are presented, considering as unknowns either the magnetic fluxes or the circulations of the vector potential. Results on simple reference configurations are reported and discussed.

The non-uniform structure makes the use of numerical methods extremely useful in the design phase in order to achieve a very good behavior of the TEM cell over a wide frequency range of operation. In this paper an extended version of PEEC is used to study a real device and results are compared with experimental ones.

The computational results are validated versus measurements on Epstein's yoke. The proposed model is based on Finite Element method formulated in the harmonic domain and takes into account ferromagnetic hysteresis and eddy currents. A classical Preisach model is used for

The basic equations are developed with a multiphysics approach and results, both in two-dimensional and tree- dimensional models, are presented. By means of the comparison with finite element approach, some advantages of the proposed methodology are highlighted, in particular quick model construction, capability to separate thermal strain from the mechanical one and, as a consequence, the capability to model the strain and stress evolution in a time dependent problem, considering possible mutual effects between thermal and mechanical fields.

The tool is focused on the analysis of distribution networks and it has been used for two main aims: to keep the network model updated with data measured on the field (load values, status of switches etc.) and to couple the network simulator with an external topology optimizer. The procedure has been applied to the analysis of a distribution network owned by ATENA SpA in the Northern Italy town Vercelli. Plug-in working is explained and some preliminary results obtained are discussed.
